Job summary

Mindrift connects mortgage underwriters and loan origination professionals with project-based AI opportunities at leading lenders. You will evaluate AI-generated mortgage decisions across conforming, jumbo, FHA, VA and cash-out refinance scenarios and create test cases for self-employed income.

Project work is non-permanent and part-time, with tasks estimated at 10–20 hours per week. Compensation is up to $50 per hour, depending on experience and pace.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Real Estate, or related field.
• 3+ years of mortgage, lending, real estate or financial services experience.
• Experience in underwriting and origination or related roles.
• Ability to calculate qualifying income for self-employed borrowers from IRS Form 1040, Schedule C, Schedule E, and K-1.
• Deep familiarity with Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac selling guides and Reg B/Reg Z/TRID timing knowledge.
• Strong written English (C1+).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated mortgage underwriting decisions across loan types.
• Create test cases involving qualifying income calculations for self-employed borrowers.
• Draft and audit conditional approval letters and adverse action notices for Reg B / ECOA compliance.
• Distinguish Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac selling guide rules from lender overlays in jumbo and non-conforming loan scenarios.
• Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.
