A staffing agency is seeking a Python Developer Assistant to work with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in Parma, Italy. The role involves supporting data migration, developing Python scripts for automation, and ensuring data integration. Candidates should have excellent proficiency in English and Python, as well as experience in data engineering. This opportunity offers an initial three-month contract with the potential for extension, requiring office work two days a week while allowing remote work for the rest.

We are looking for a

PYTHON DEVELOPER ASSISTANT

to work in the Integrated Data Unit.

Assignment : initial contract of 3 months, with possibility of extension. Expected duration of assignment 12 months.

Salary : approx. €2259 per month before taxes.

Work modalities : office work is required on at least 2 days per week. Remote work is possible within 2 hours from EFSA's premises in Parma, Italy, for the remaining days.

Responsibility

• support the migration from legacy data collection and database systems to a new cloud-based data management infrastructure;
• develop and optimize Python-based scripts to automate data validation, transformation and migration;
• support the integration of data from multiple sources into unified and reusable database;
• conduct testing and quality assurance of the new environment.

Requirements

• excellent knowledge of English (at least C1 level);
• excellent knowledge of Python;
• experience with Pyspark is considered an asset;
• previous experience in software development, data engineering and / or database management;
• behavioural competencies : ability to work with others, analysis and problem solving, drive for results.
