You will be responsible for project coordination of engineering activities like material requisition and plant engineering related to the oil and gas sector. You will report directly to the Director of Engineering and functionally to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Analyzing and understanding Contract content and relevant technical annexes supporting the Proposal / Project Manager during Bid / Execution Phase
  • Coordinating with engineering specialists composing the technical team in the preparation of the overall Engineering Document List
  • Developing with the support of the technical leaders the Master Project Schedule by detailing all project design activities
  • Supporting the Project Manager during client meetings and during the review of man-hours breakdown
  • Preparing with the Project Manager the Coordination Procedure to be issued on the project
  • Coordinating the preparation of the various Material Requisitions
  • Coordinating the release of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PIDs) for the relevant project
  • Coordinating and verifying the preparation of the PCN (Project Change Note), evaluating the reason for modification and any potential impact on cost and time
  • Preparing with the Technical team the Project Design Basis and developing the Equipment List
  • Controlling engineering activities to align with quality practices and Engineering Standards and Procedures, including multidisciplinary documentation
  • Coordinating HSE activities subcontracted to external offices
  • Organising periodic design reviews with technical discipline leaders
  • Preparing Work Requisitions for Plant Engineering Activities to be subcontracted to a qualified Design Centre
  • Supervising the release of Engineering documents with Document Controller support
  • Receiving project requirements from the Client and organizing review/approval meetings for documentation
  • Organizing and attending meetings to define Project Plot Plans and ensure compliance with Client requests, safety, operability and maintainability requirements
  • Resolving Non-Conformities with the Project Manager, Quality Coordinator and Technical Department Responsible
  • Supporting the Project Manager in preparing claims or change orders, collecting engineering information to evaluate them economically
  • Preparing and managing material requisitions related to special items or package units
  • Preparing Work Requisitions for Erection Activities to subcontract to qualified Erection companies and participate in Home Office project reviews
  • Supporting the Site Manager and Supervisors in interpreting project documentation and resolving technical discrepancies
  • Defining in detail the content of final job documentation (mechanical, operational, start-up, maintenance, etc.)
  • Coordinating technical departments during project development to ensure multidisciplinary information is shared
  • Verifying project progress in cooperation with the Project Manager and Project Control

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a Technical High School Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Have very good experience in Project Engineering in oil and gas, EPC Engineering contractors or plant design
  • Have good capability in the use of MS Office Suite
  • Have a high self-motivation approach and high flexibility during job activities
  • Be able to work with very tight schedules
  • Be able to summarize technical problems raised during design and report to Project Managers, Client and Suppliers
  • Coordinate team work with an empathic approach
  • Understand technical specifications and documentation related to Oil and Gas / Chemical plants
  • Be familiar with the most used international Codes and Standards in Oil & Gas and Refining Engineering and Construction
  • Have deep knowledge of the typical EPC Engineering and Contractors company work process
  • Have deep expertise in Instrumentation and Control
