Material Planning & Logistic Manager

Position Summary

We're looking for a Material Planning & Logistic Manager in Reggio Emilia. This candidate will manage plant logistics and the production planning team. She/He will be responsible for all internal logistics processes: from customer order confirmation to material planning, production planning scheduling (assembly lines and machining), inbound materials process, materials storage, and shipments.

Main Responsibilities

1. Planning and management of inbound and outbound flows throughout the production cycle.
2. Overseeing and optimization of the production planning process (from demand planning to shipping).
3. Definition of the best procurement policy (consignment stock, Kanban, call off) finding the right trade-off between the value of stock (DOH) and customer KPI (OTD and Short Lead time to market).
4. Definition of stock reduction policies to improve the rotation index.
5. Lead and monitor KPI of all logistics processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency according to management goals and targets.
6. Lead and coordinate logistics processes continuous improvement according to Dana Operation System.
7. Management of yearly inventory count.
8. Responsibility for stock accuracy.
9. Use reports and metrics to analyze opportunities for savings and improvements, shipment frequencies & issues, claims issues, and customer/supplier routing efficiencies.
10. Resolve any arising problems or customer complaints related to logistics activities.

Job Position Requirements

Education: University bachelor degree - Management Engineering

Professional background:

The candidate should have experience in different logistics functions of manufacturing companies for at least 6-7 years (production planning, material planning, warehouse, and logistics management).
