About The Position
The Controls Engineer position will be based out of Zeeco's Lissone office. The role requires knowledge of all Zeeco products, with a focus on Incinerators division products and technical requirements. The engineer will oversee all aspects of assigned projects to ensure quality products are delivered on time and within budget.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review project engineering and sales packages to determine Zeeco's scope of supply.
- Interpret customer specifications and implement them for the "AS SOLD" equipment, identifying any discrepancies or scope changes.
- Develop P&ID drawings in coordination with project, sales, and process engineers to meet contractual requirements.
- Create Control Narratives and Cause & Effect diagrams in collaboration with process engineers.
- Develop data sheets and hookup drawings for instruments and valves, including temperature, level, flow, pressure transmitters, control valves, positioners, and analytical instruments.
- Design and review drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes, and warning light systems, including general arrangements, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prepare cable BOMs, routing plans, and schedules.
- Issue RFQs or Material Requisitions to vendors, review technical and commercial proposals, and coordinate with Procurement for purchase orders.
- Assist the Project Manager in reviewing the control budget, aiming to stay within financial limits and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare bid tabs for control items for review and discussion with PE/PM.
- Conduct inspections and tests on equipment prior to shipment, possibly with customer and Project Engineer present.
- Occasionally travel domestically and internationally to support sales, assist with commissioning, FAT, HAZOP, SIL meetings, or technical discussions with customers.
Qualifications and Skills
- B.S. or Master's degree in Engineering (Instruments, Automation, Electrical, etc.) or three years of related experience in manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have computer skills.
- Business acumen and sound commercial decision-making skills are essential, despite the technical background.
- Results-driven with a commitment to performance.
- Fluent in English.
