General Description of Role and Responsibilities

Report to Engineering Manager, Fast Moving Workover Rig (FMWR). The FMWR Engineering Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, mobilization, operations, and demobilization of fast‑moving workover rigs used for well interventions, maintenance, and recompletions. This role ensures that all workover activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures and industry standards. It involves close coordination with rig contractors, field personnel, logistics, and engineering teams.

Planning and Mobilization
  • Plan daily and long‑term workover activities for multiple fast‑moving rigs.
  • Coordinate rig mobilization/demobilization and ensure proper site preparation, including access roads and location setup.
  • Review and implement intervention programs in collaboration with well engineering teams.
Operations Supervision
  • Monitor and coordinate all rig site operations including pulling and running tubing, fishing, milling, and wellbore cleanout.
  • Zone isolation, stimulation, and recompletions.
  • Wellhead repairs and installation.
  • Ensure daily operations align with safety, technical, and cost targets.
  • Implement best practices for rig skidding/moving to maximize efficiency.
HSE & Compliance
  • Enforce adherence to safety procedures, permit‑to‑work systems, and risk assessments.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks with rig crews.
  • Ensure rigs and operations comply with company HSE policies and national regulations.
  • Coordinate movement of personnel, equipment, and materials to/from rig sites.
  • Ensure proper documentation of daily operations, performance reports, and non‑conformance reports.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
  • Track rig performance metrics (NPT, flat time, move time, cost per well).
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
  • Provide accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports to operations management.
  • Deep understanding of well workover operations and equipment (workover rigs, slickline/wireline, pumps, wellheads).
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills in field environments.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Competency in preparing and reviewing operational reports and rig schedules.
  • Familiarity with rig move logistics and civil preparation for wellsite access.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
  • Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Mechanical or Marine Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Work experience of eight (8) years in the sought discipline after earning the university degree.
  • Excellent spoken and written English including proven ability to write reports.
