Schematic & Apparatus Engineer

Purpose of the Job:

• Design train electrical architecture, cubical layout, and wiring routing.
• Specify electrical apparatus to be used on projects according to Preferred Parts List and project requirements.
• Produce pure principle scheme (PPS), solution principle schemes (SPS), cabling principle schemes (CPS), and project apparatus specifications.

Position in the Organisation:

Hierarchical: Schematic & Apparatus Domain Leader (S&ADL)
Functional: Schematic & Apparatus Leader (S&AL)

Network & Links:

Maintain permanent links with the Train Control Engineer (TCE), Train System Engineer (TSE), fitting engineers, and all Sub-System Engineers (SSE) of the project. Directly link with Verification & Test Engineer.

Missions:

Performance Measurement/KPI’s:

• Quality of delivery (including sub-contractor delivery): 1st time quality rate > 90% (quality rate = modification validated OK / number of modification applied).
• Respect of the delivery planning (including sub-contractor delivery): 100% on-time delivery.
• Level of application of standard PPL: 100% of PPL.
• Continuous improvement or Return on Experience (RoE) management from previous projects: 0 missing RoE.

Responsibilities:

Accountable for:

• Delivering the right product at the right moment to the project, consisting of the complete electrical case or a set of electrical deliverables for each baseline made of:
• Electrical Apparatus and components specification
• Connector coding specification
• Cubical specification
• Wiring list
• Device list
• Harness case
• Electrical architecture at train level

Managing the configuration of deliverables.

Responsible for: Managing the S&A Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) of activities and sub-contracting management (inputs/outputs management).

Job Specifications:

Knowledge & Experience:

• A Level + 2 or 3 years or Graduate from an Engineering School.
• Electrical and/or electrotechnical engineering knowledge.
• Basic train system knowledge.
• Electrical CAD experience (at least 3 years).
• Fluent English is favorable.
