Job Summary/Role Description
Reporting to the Engineering Manager of the Green Power and Assets Business Unit, the Electrical Technical Manager is responsible for leading the electrical design activities of renewable energy plants, with a focus on optimizing material usage and construction efficiency. The role acts as the focal point for all electrical engineering matters, from proposal to commissioning phase, ensuring compliance with technical standards and promoting innovation in equipment and design.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Energy Specialist to develop optimized electrical layouts during both proposal and execution phases.
- Utilize dedicated software to support the preparation of documentation and Material Take-Offs (MTOs).
- Review and provide technical input on engineering designs developed by external subcontractors, aiming to minimize quantities and costs.
- Identify optimal routes for cableways to reduce excavation and backfilling works.
- Optimize the number and configuration of electrical equipment (e.g., STS, inverters) to balance performance and cable requirements.
- Act as the reference point for electrical standards and regulations in Italy and abroad.
- Manage procedures and documentation for grid connection.
- Oversee the performance specifications and testing parameters (FAT/SAT) of electrical equipment, with attention to innovative technologies.
- Standardize Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for both factory and site activities (precommissioning/commissioning).
- Lead the automation design for Green Power plants.
- Develop and standardize electrical procedures for precommissioning and commissioning phases.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within EPC projects, preferably in renewable energy (solar, wind, green hydrogen).
- Experience in managing external engineering partners and optimizing plant design.
- Open to site-based missions to support project needs.
Skills and Abilities
- Fluent in English.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and renewable energy technologies.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools for layout and electrical design.
