Descrizione del lavoro

We are Snackbar Studio, an all-remote, indie studio passionate about beautiful, narrative games (and snacks). We’re searching for a senior game programmer to join our team of industry veterans and bring our vision to life. If you’re skilled, experienced, and eager to make an impact on a small, creative team, we want to hear from you!

We recently secured funding for our first title - The SnackBar at the End of the World - a top-down, chill-action RPG for PC, Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox. Players take the role of a chef in a magical, alternate-reality 1960s Italy where they forage, hunt, cook, scheme to make lire, serve restaurant guests their favorite meals, and rescue their family from the authoritarian mayor’s prison. (Check out our non-public, investor trailer here.)

Our game embraces antifascist, anti-racist, LGBTQ+ inclusive, feminist themes. So does our team. If that sounds like your jam, please read on!

Responsibilities

We need a Senior Game Programmer with extensive experience in the Unity Engine. Candidates must have worked on at least three released titles, including one published on a major console (Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch). They should have a deep knowledge of game development fundamentals, prioritize multiple tasks effectively, solve challenging problems, and optimize game performance.

In the first days, you'll undergo onboarding to get familiar with the team and our project. Once settled, you'll begin developing features, from systems to UI, ensuring they align with our vision. Your tasks will include:

  1. Implementing, iterating, and polishing features end-to-end.
  2. Designing scalable, maintainable code architectures for future growth.
  3. Collaborating with the technical team to solve problems and enhance game quality.
  4. Contributing to process and tool improvements.
  5. Working with QA to debug and fix bugs.

  • Proficiency in source control

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Good communication skills, especially with non-technical team members

  • Opportunities to contribute to published titles and showcase your work

Please ensure your application includes your most significant published titles, your CV and LinkedIn profile, and samples of your work or relevant materials. We look forward to your application!
