Reporting to the Director of Major Giving, West Region and based remotely in Northern California, the Development Officer serves as a frontline fundraiser and member of the University’s California-based fundraising team. The Development Officer is responsible for establishing and managing effective relationships with varied donor prospects and existing donors across the West Region, with a focus on San Francisco, San Mateo County, East Bay, and San Jose.
The Development Officer will identify and qualify potential donors, design and implement successful cultivation and solicitation strategies, solicit prospects, and motivate alumni, faculty, volunteers, and friends who can advance the development function at the University. The Development Officer is expected to conduct 14-16 prospect visits per month and manage a portfolio of 150-175 prospects with a gift capacity of $10,000 to $99,999 (primarily $50,000+).
