The Team:
The Planning Department is here to make a difference as One Team to enable Mattel to win and deliver profitable growth through the right Demand, Supply & Inventory. We connect the dots across functions through the Business Planning process, focusing on People, Service, Cost, and Cash. The Planning department plays a critical role in the journey to transform the overall Supply Chain into a competitive advantage.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Demand Planner to join our European Supply Chain Team, located in Italy. The key objectives of this role are to lead the local S&OP process and collaborate with commercial stakeholders to generate the most-likely Demand predictions.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  1. Drive improvements in Forecast Variance.
  2. Prepare and run the local S&OP process with the Sales & Marketing teams following the monthly cadence.
  3. Prepare and execute the monthly Demand Submission in line with the signed-off forecast.
  4. Be the primary point of contact for Sales & Marketing with regards to Planning and Forecasting.
  5. Synchronize commercial plans with demand plans.
  6. Proactively identifying constraints and challenges and developing solutions to mitigate impacts all the while keeping internal customers clearly informed of developments.
  7. Work with Sales and Marketing to fully understand Sales Forecast, risks, and opportunities.
  8. Provide and analyze monthly metrics reporting on forecast changes, rejections, forecast accuracy, bias.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. B.A. Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply-Chain, or Engineering.
  2. Fluent English & Italian.
  3. At least 2-3 years experience in a supply chain planning role.
  4. Expert proficiency with Excel and Powerpoint.
  5. Working knowledge of demand planning processes and tools; experience with Anaplan and/or Tableau is a plus.
  6. APICS certification or equivalent is a plus.
  7. Self-assured and skilled communicator both verbally and written including meeting facilitation and presentations.
  8. Ability to influence and achieve expected results independently by establishing effective cross-functional & cross-cultural relationships.
  9. High levels of problem-solving & analytical ability.
  10. Ability to perform in a demanding, dynamic, and highly visible organization.
