Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder management: Strategical approach in engaging stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are effectively addressed
  • Resource analysis and planning: Analyze current resource utilization and predict future needs based on historical data, market trends, and business forecasts
  • Demand forecasting: Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to forecast demand and prepare capacity plans accordingly
  • Capacity management: Develop and implement strategies to ensure that the organization’s capacity meets current and future business needs
  • Team management: Leading schedulers and RTAs with clear goals and constructive feedback for development
  • Performance reporting: Generate reports on resource utilization, capacity planning, and performance metrics for management review
  • Stakeholder collaboration: Work with operations, finance, and HR to align capacity planning with goals
  • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and best practices in capacity planning
  • Risk management: Assess risks related to capacity constraints and develop contingency plans

Job Description for Capacity Planner Role
Overview

A Capacity Planner ensures that an organizations resources are utilized efficiently to meet current and future demands. This role is essential in industries such as manufacturing, IT, and logistics, where balancing resources and demand is crucial for achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stakeholder Management: Strategical approach in engaging stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are effectively addressed
  • Resource Analysis and Planning: Analyze current resource utilization and predict future needs based on historical data, market trends, and business forecasts.
  • Demand Forecasting: Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to forecast demand and prepare capacity plans accordingly
  • Capacity Management: Develop and implement strategies to ensure that the organization’s capacity meets current and future business needs
  • Team Management: Fostering collaboration, providing clear goals, offering constructive feedback, and supporting continuous learning and development by upskilling the team of Schedulers and Real Time Analysts
  • Performance Reporting: Generate reports on resource utilization, capacity planning, and performance metrics for management review
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including operations, finance, and human resources, to align capacity planning with organizational goals
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in capacity planning and resource management
  • Risk Management: Assess potential risks related to capacity constraints and develop contingency plans to mitigate those risks
Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in capacity planning, resource management, or a similar role
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in capacity planning tools and software, data analysis, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem solving skills to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in capacity planning and reporting
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in a related field
  • Certifications: Certifications in capacity planning,
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the BPO industry is must
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with advanced capacity planning and resource management software
  • Proficiency in MS Suites specially in Excel and Power Point
