Bechtel is seeking a Workface Planner Mechanical in Gurugram to prepare Installation Work Packages (IWPs) and supporting MTOs for Mechanical installations. You will help coordinate construction activities, support design-for-construction, and provide input to engineering and procurement to optimize total installed cost.

The role requires extensive EPC field experience, strong drawing interpretation, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 yrs. in large EPC projects or 12–20 yrs. in lieu of a degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or international equivalent).
• Experience as Field Engineer or Construction Engineer on large industrial projects.

Responsabilités

• Develop Installation Work Packages (IWP) for mechanical installations.
• Create and manage the 90-day IWP release plan with Superintendent and Field Engineer.
• Review installation priorities, scope, access, resources and materials.
• Coordinate IWP scope with mechanical field engineer for approval.
• Perform random checks of IWPs prepared by others.
• Understand Work Packaging philosophy, WBS, and installation scope.
• Monitor schedule and ensure timely IWP delivery with project controls.
• Ensure IWPs are accurate and well-scoped on first pass.
• Attend progress meetings and interface with site management and client teams.
• Prepare IWPs with drawings, Isometrics, vendor drawings, ITRs and related docs.
• Support material takeoff for piping and vendor components; upload to TEAMWorks.
• Prepare work packages and method statements for interconnects and module installation.

Job Summary:

The Workface Planner Mechanical will be responsible to prepare Installation Work Packages (IWPs), Material Take-offs (MTO) for specific disciplines and will also support office construction activities, such constructability reviews, ensuring safety in design, providing construction’s input to engineering and procurement teams that improves Total Installed Cost (TIC) on the projects.

Major Responsibilities:

• The Mechanical Workface Planner is responsible for developing Installation work packages (IWPs) for Mechanical installations in addition to being accountable for developing the detailed IWP release plan (90-Day schedule) with the Responsible superintendent, Responsible Field Engineer.

• The Mechanical Workface Planner will review general installation priorities and check to assure the work accomplished meets the project requirements.

• Reviews work scope, checking sequences, access, resources, equipment needs, pre-work, materials, and support services.

• The Mechanical Workface Planner prepares the scope of the IWP in coordination with mechanical field engineer to gain approval for the IWP.

• Workface Planner will perform random checking of IWPs assembled by the other Workface planner.

• Understand work packaging philosophy, scope of installation, Work Breakdown Structure and scoping of installation work packages.

• Monitor project schedule and ensure performance and timely delivery of IWPs; coordinate with Project Controls team, planners, other stakeholder of the project and ensure piping IWPs are issued as per the project priorities

• Monitor quality of IWPs ensuring scoping and preparation of IWPs is done right the first time

• Attend progress meetings, maintain effective interface with site management team, client’s organization ensuring IWPs, and advance work packaging efforts are effectively delivered on the project.

• Develops detailed mechanical Installation Work Package (IWPs) as per the project guidelines and procedures, which includes, compiling mechanical & piping installation drawings, Isometrics, installation details, model snapshots, vendor drawings, inspection test records, flange connection datasheets or any other documents or Engineering deliverables associated with the IWPs.

• Supports development of various other construction engineering deliverables like material takeoff of Piping bulk material and vendor supplied piping components and bulks; upload material take-off quantities and other attributes of Work Packages into the TEAMWorks database or project specific database.

• Preparation of work packages and method statement for module interconnects, field welds, removal of shipping supports, and other activities involved in installation of module.

Preparation of IWP constrains list and assist in resolution and closure of constraints or engineering issues.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Minimum experience of 10 yrs. in large EPC projects, or 12 to 20 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

• A recognized bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or international equivalent).

Working experience at the jobsites as a Field Engineer or Construction Engineer on large industrial projects is essential.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience in piping & equipment installation

• Shall have an experience of preparation of Installation work packages.

• Proficient in reading drawings, interpret design, specifications and industry standards and codes.

• Shall have a knowledge of ASME B31.3/B31.1

• Excellent communications skills

• Proficient MS Office applications

• Experience of international field assignments is highly preferred.

• An experience of manufacturing/processing plant projects is highly preferred.

• People with only scheduling experience should not apply.

• People posted at jobsite but not directly involved in installation/execution should not apply.

An experience on Energy / Petrochemical / Semiconductor projects is highly preferred
