Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate WordPress Developer to design, implement, and maintain websites for our diverse client portfolio. You will be responsible for both front-end and back-end development, including creating custom themes, plugins, and ensuring high performance and security. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress websites and themes from scratch based on client specifications and UX/UI designs.
• Develop and customize WordPress plugins to extend website functionality.
• Implement and optimize websites for maximum speed, scalability, and SEO best practices.
• Perform routine website maintenance, updates, and security hardening.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex website issues, including compatibility and performance problems.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers to ensure timely project delivery.
• Migrate websites from other platforms to WordPress and manage domain/hosting setups.
• Conduct website testing and quality assurance before client delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in WordPress development.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in core web technologies: PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery.
  • Extensive experience building custom WordPress themes and plugins (not just page builders).
  • Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, template hierarchy, and hooks (actions & filters).
  • Experience with responsive design frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS).
  • Solid experience with MySQL database management and queries.
  • Familiarity with REST API integration.
  • Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • A keen eye for design and detail.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

• Experience with e-commerce platforms, especially WooCommerce.
• Experience with page builders (Elementor, Divi, WPBakery) for client-editable sections.
• Understanding of web performance optimization tools (e.g., Lighthouse, GTmetrix).
• Basic knowledge of security best practices (SSL, GDPR compliance).
• Familiarity with DevOps tools like Docker or local development environments (Local by Flywheel, XAMPP).
