Job summary

Softenger is hiring for a Windows & VMware Administrator to support on-site operations in Mumbai. The role requires hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, VMware ESXi/Hyper-V, and enterprise backup tools.

You will handle server lifecycle, basic infra tasks, and security while ensuring data protection and proper storage access for users. Immediate joiners to 15 days max are preferred; walk-in interviews are scheduled, with strict F2F mode at the venue in Mumbai.

Qualifications

• Experience configuring and managing Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
• Hands-on with VMware ESXi or Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
• Experience with enterprise backup tools (Veeam/NetBackup/Bacula).
• Knowledge of patch management using BigFix or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage Windows Server environments (physical/virtual).
• Basic server infrastructure tasks including hardware, directories, and file services.
• Day-to-day virtualization administration and VM provisioning with snapshots.
• Execute daily backup jobs and recovery workflows with enterprise tools.
• Monitor server health, audit logs, schedule jobs, and apply patches.
• Manage NAS storage and Active Directory user permissions.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Server Lifecycle: Install, configure, and rebuild physical or virtual Windows Server environments (Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022).
• Infrastructure Tasks: Basic setup of host hardware, peripherals, directories, file services, and server system settings.
• Virtualization: Basic day-to-day administration within VMware or Hyper-V platforms, including spinning up new virtual machines (VMs) and managing snapshots.
• Data Protection & Backups: Execute daily backup jobs and recovery workflows using tools like Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, or Bacula.
• Monitoring & Security: Monitor server utilization, audit application error logs, automate job scheduling, and deploy patches utilizing HCL BigFix.
• Storage & Directories: Provision storage components with Network Attached Storage (NAS) platforms (NetApp or EMC) and manage user permissions via Active Directory.
