Job summary

eero is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about networking, with a deep understanding of Ethernet, WiFi, and security protocols.

This role splits 50% of time solving escalations and 50% building features, integrating software and improving tooling. You will collaborate with OS, mobile, and cloud teams to deliver reliable, scalable connectivity for home networks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis).
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Proven experience in WiFi software development, particularly with 802.11 protocols.
• Familiarity with 802.11, 802.3, DHCP, IPv4, IPv6, Linux bridge, and network stack internals.

This role is critical in handling escalations, particularly those that are challenging to reproduce in the field. The Software Development Engineer will spend 50% of their time managing customer issues and 50% of the time developing features, integrating software and improving tooling. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our team and to shape a new function within our organization.
