Job summary

Chevron ENGINE in Bengaluru, India invites a Wells Engineer to join the Wells team, supporting offshore and onshore operations across the well lifecycle. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and performance improvements through data-driven engineering and collaboration with global colleagues.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in upstream wells engineering, strong modeling skills, and the ability to work with diverse teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline with minimum CGPA 7.5.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in upstream industry as Wells Engineer.
  • Knowledge of wells engineering concepts including casing design, subsurface hazards, rig equipment, operational practices, well control, and performance monitoring.
  • Skill in running and interpreting engineering models to improve wells performance.
  • Experience evaluating well design & operating parameters through data and trend analysis.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with diverse international workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with global teams responsible for safely, reliably and efficiently executing Wells activities.
  • Deploy and monitor the use of tools, standards, and processes for enterprise exploration and assets.
  • Provide engineering modelling for drilling and completions operations using industry standard software packages.
  • Utilize data, KPIs, and analysis tools to identify opportunities to improve execution practices and drive improvements.
  • Conduct lookbacks and benchmarking analysis using internal and external data sources.
  • Collaborate with digital teams, assets, and central functions to ensure data quality and report metrics.
  • Explore how AI can be utilized in competitive performance work scopes.
  • Execute workflows to support planning for all well phases.

About the position

Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Wells Engineer to join the ENGINE Wells team; this role will be based in Chevron’s office in Bengaluru. Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.

Wells Engineer will provide support across Chevron’s portfolio, leveraging digital tools, to deliver process safety, technical, and performance solutions. The role supports global operations including offshore, conventional, and shale & tight asset classes across the entire well lifecycle of drilling, completion, intervention, and abandonment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with global teams responsible across the enterprise for safely, reliably and efficiently executing all Wells activities
  • Deploy and monitorthe use of tools, standards, and processes contributing to successful business outcomes for enterprise exploration, Upstream asset classes, and Chevron New Energies (CNE) programs
  • Provide engineering modelling for drilling and completions operations using industry standard software packages
  • Utilize data, KPIs, and analysis tools to identify opportunities to improve execution practices, transferring these into actionable items for rig teams, monitoring implementation, and ensuring sustainability of performance improvement
  • Conduct lookbacks and benchmarking analysis using internal and external data sources to identify trends and competitive performance analysis
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders in digital teams, assets, and central functions to ensure data quality, utilizing analytical tools to report metrics/performance
  • Explore how AI can be utilized in competitive performance work scopes
  • Execute workflows to support planning for all well phases
About you
  • Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline with minimum CGPA 7.5

  • Demonstrated knowledge of wells engineering concepts including casing design, subsurface hazards, rig equipment, operational practices, well control, and performance monitoring

  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work and collaborate effectively with diverse international workforce in a team environment
  • Significant time spent on rig or well site as field engineer, company representative, or equivalent field experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in all aspects of well design, permitting, operations, and associated logistics
  • Experience in performance monitoring and optimization of well performance KPIs, performance analysis, and benchmarking
  • Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative environment across geographies
