Job summary

ExxonMobil in Bengaluru invites engineers with 3–10 years in upstream oil and gas to join our Well Management group. The role provides wells engineering support across our global portfolio, with opportunities to work across projects and functional teams.

You will collaborate with Wells, Production, facilities, reservoir and geoscience teams; emphasis on wellwork, integrity, P&A, and safety, with potential for international travel.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering with GPA 7+ (Bachelor or Master).
• 3–10 years in upstream oil and gas.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate design and operating parameters.
• Experience writing Wellwork procedures preferred but not required.
• Field experience at a rig site or wellsite preferred.
• Familiarity with AFE and budgeting for wellwork activities.
• Familiarity with Cerberus, WellView, WellCAT, Torque & Drag.
• Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI or Spotfire.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support in well management to ExxonMobil global wells teams.
• Work with Wells teams to design and/or operate safe, cost-effective operations.
• Generate plots and reports to communicate solutions and best practices.
• Ensure operations comply with internal standards and regulations.
• Support well integrity assessments and remediation planning.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all activities.
• Identify and implement new technologies to enhance wellwork efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers and operations on global asset teams.
• Integrate with Production, facilities, reservoir and geoscience groups.

We are looking for 3-10 years experienced engineers with an emphasis on Well Management (wellwork / well integrity / P&A) Engineering to provide wells engineering support across ExxonMobil’s global portfolio. What you will do

• Provide engineering support in well management (wellwork / well integrity / P&A) area to ExxonMobil global wells teams leveraging analysis and engineering insights
• Work directly with Wells teams to provide design and / or operational support for safe and cost-effective operations
• Generate plots and reports to communicate solutions and leverage ExxonMobil subject matter expert advice and company best practices to improve performance
• Ensure all operations comply with internal standards and international regulations.
• Support well integrity assessments and remediation planning
• Promote a strong safety culture across all activities
• Identify and implement new technologies and tools to enhance wellwork efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers and operations personnel on global asset teams
• Integrate with adjacent disciplines – Production, facilities, reservoir & geoscience teams to provide synergistic solutions to global wells teams

About you

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from a recognized university in petroleum, mechanical, chemical, civil, or electrical engineering with minimum GPA 7 and above, Master’s Degree preferred
• 3-10 years of work experience in the upstream oil and gas industry
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate critical design & operating parameters through data and trend analysis
• Experience in writing procedures for Wellwork Operations (rigless and/or rig-based; coil tubing, slickline, wireline) execution is preferred not required
• Field experience at a rig site or wellsite is preferred
• Knowledge of the basic wells management engineering concepts including well intervention/wellwork, plug and abandonment, well integrity, well control (well barrier philosophy).
• Familiarity with AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) and budget forecasts for wellwork activities
• Familiarity with engineering applications such as Cerberus, WellView, WellCAT, Torque & Drag
• Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI or Spotfire

• Demonstrated ability to cooperate effectively in a team environment
• Flexibility to work in shifts, with opportunities to leverage flexible work hours
• Position is Bangalore-based with potential for international travel
