Job summary

Madhaniya Design Studio seeks a designer who can translate briefs into spatial concepts for weddings, balancing mandap composition with light, texture, and meaning.

You will lead decor and floral direction across South Indian ceremonies, collaborate with clients and vendors, and ensure flawless on-site execution while building our portfolio through storytelling.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Spatial Design.
• 1+ years in wedding or experiential design.
• Familiarity with South Indian wedding traditions.
• Excellent client communication in Telugu or English.

At Madhaniya, we design weddings the way architects design buildings — with intent, proportion, and a deep respect for tradition. We're looking for a designer who understands that a mandap is not just a structure, but a composition of light, texture, and meaning. If you think in elevation plans and mood boards simultaneously, this role was made for you.

What you’ll do

• Conceptualise and design event spaces — Translate briefs into spatial concepts, from mandap layouts to full venue transformations. Think in 3D, present in mood boards and scaled sketches.
• Lead decor and floral direction — Drive floral design and decor selection across traditional South Indian ceremonies: Pellikuthuru, Seemantham, Pasupu, engagements, and receptions.
• Collaborate with clients and vendors — Build strong client relationships, present concepts confidently, and manage vendor coordination from sourcing to on-site installation.
• Own event execution — Be present across event days ensuring installations are executed to spec, handling real-time problem-solving with composure and creativity.
• Build our visual brand — Contribute to portfolio documentation, social media content, and internal design archives. An eye for behind-the-scenes storytelling is a plus.

What we’re looking for

Background

• Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Spatial Design preferred
• 1+ years in wedding or experiential design
• Familiarity with South Indian wedding traditions

Skills

• Strong spatial thinking and scale awareness
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop or similar
• Canva and Adobe Suite for presentations
• Floral design sensibility — natural, wild, and textured
• Excellent client communication in Telugu or English
