The role combines engineering leadership, technical architecture, people management, and delivery ownership, guiding frontend and backend teams with React.js, Node.js, and Python-based APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Significant professional experience in software/web application development.
• Demonstrated experience leading software engineering teams.
• Strong experience with modern frontend development technologies such as: React.js, JavaScript / TypeScript
• Experience with backend technologies such as: Node.js and Python, FastAPI or comparable API frameworks, RESTful API development
• Strong understanding of: Web application architecture, API design, Authentication and authorization, Relational databases, Git-based source control, Unit and integration testing, CI/CD practices, Secure software development
• Experience delivering applications using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for the design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of web applications.
• Drive architecture and design decisions for scalable and maintainable frontend and backend solutions.
• Establish coding standards, design patterns, reusable components, and engineering best practices.
• Conduct and govern code reviews, technical design reviews, and architecture discussions.
• Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, scalability concerns, and security vulnerabilities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where they provide clear business or engineering value.
• Guide development of responsive and intuitive web applications using modern frontend frameworks such as React.js.
• Oversee development of backend services and APIs using technologies such as Node.js, Python/FastAPI, or equivalent frameworks.
• Ensure effective integration between web applications, APIs, databases, authentication services, and external systems.

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Web Development Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of modern, scalable, secure, and high-performing web applications.

This role combines engineering leadership, technical architecture, people management, and delivery ownership. The successful candidate will lead a team of frontend and backend engineers, establish engineering standards, collaborate closely with Product Management, Architecture, UX, QA, DevOps, and Platform teams, and ensure reliable delivery of business-critical web applications.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with modern web technologies, particularly React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js and/or Python-based APIs, along with cloud-native architectures, REST APIs, databases, automated testing, CI/CD, and Agile software development.

Candidate should work from office for 1 to 3 days in a week (mandatory) from Bengaluru office and flexible to come on required working days to office. Candidate to have relevant experience around 8 years.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering & Technical Leadership
