Job summary

SavvyMob is hiring a PHP/NoSQL Application Developer to build PHP (Laravel) and JavaScript modules for our hotel booking platform. You will craft flexible, well-documented components, collaborates with engineers, and enable customers to implement solutions that reduce operating costs.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in PHP development, experience with Laravel, MongoDB, jQuery, and CSS, and a solid grasp of API design patterns, MVC, and modern web tech. Python exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Computer science, engineering or technical degree (B.S. or above).
• 2 to 4 years expereince in PHP developemnt required
• Demonstrated success building large-scale applications with PHP (Laravel), NoSQL databases (MongoDB) and web technologies (jQuery, web components, CSS).

SavvyMob is a last minute hotel booking platform, currently has an opening for a talented PHP/NoSQL Application Developer.

Primarily, this position entails developing PHP (Laravel) and JavaScript (jQuery & Web Components) modules for an innovative product targeted for businesses. At the core of this position lies the ability to create components that are flexible, well-documented, thoroughly tested, and easy to implement into our customer solutions. Collaborating with our development engineers, the work you do will help small to mid-size companies turn their travel data into actionable insight, enabling them to reduce their operational costs.

What are we looking for?

• Demonstrated success building large-scale applications with PHP (preferably Laravel), NoSQL databases (preferably MongoDB) and the web platform (preferably jQuery, web components and CSS).
• Demonstrated ability to work with programming languages and database outside of your core competency (preferably familiar with Python).
• Demonstrated ability to maintain fluency with current and emerging web technologies through self-study and organized training.
• Fluency in object-oriented design patterns, API design patterns, MVC pattern, and software development life cycles.
• Experience with Git, agile development processes, large-scale web application debugging, unit tests (preferably PHPUnit), continuous integration and documentation writing.
• Demonstrated communication skills, including writing, presentations and meetings, with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with current usability, accessibility, security and privacy practices.
