Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a Way4 Test Engineer with 4+ years of experience in payment testing, acquiring, and end-to-end card lifecycle validation. The role will analyze BRD, BSO, and DOU documents, prepare test plans and data, execute Way4 PI testing, validate SOD/ETL processes and reports, and manage defects through resolution. The position will contribute to business objectives by improving payment application quality, validating acquiring processes, supporting timely delivery, and ensuring reliable transaction processing across the merchant lifecycle.

Software Requirements Required

Minimum 4+ years of experience in software testing, payment testing, or related technology roles. Experience with Way4 PI execution using current and supported project versions. Experience analyzing BRD, BSO, and DOU documentation. Proficiency in test planning, test case preparation, test data preparation, test execution, and test result documentation. Experience with defect management, defect reporting, retesting, and closure validation. Knowledge of the end-to-end merchant lifecycle. Experience with acquiring transaction testing. Knowledge of SOD/ETL process validation and report verification. Familiarity with test management, defect tracking, project tracking, documentation, and collaboration tools. Ability to prepare daily status reports and project closure reports. Ability to work with Leads, Project Managers, business stakeholders, development teams, and other testing teams.

Preferred Experience testing payment applications, acquiring platforms, merchant systems, card processing, or transaction-processing solutions. Familiarity with integration testing, system integration testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing. Experience validating financial, operational, settlement, reconciliation, and transaction reports. Knowledge of automated testing concepts and test execution within CI/CD environments. Familiarity with SQL for test data validation and database verification. Experience working with distributed teams and Agile delivery environments. Knowledge of payment interfaces, transaction messages, batch processing, and downstream system integrations.

Overall Responsibilities

Analyze BRD, BSO, and DOU documents to identify business rules, functional requirements, test conditions, and expected outcomes. Prepare test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test execution schedules. Prepare and manage test data required for Way4 PI execution and acquiring transaction validation. Execute end-to-end tests across the merchant lifecycle, including applicable acquiring and payment processes. Validate SOD/ETL processing, data movement, transaction outcomes, and business and operational reports. Record, manage, prioritize, and track defects through investigation, retesting, and closure. Collaborate with development and project teams to clarify requirements, analyze defects, and confirm fixes. Perform regression testing after defect fixes, configuration changes, releases, and implementation updates. Prepare daily status reports, test execution summaries, defect reports, risk updates, and project closure reports. Participate in meetings and day-to-day coordination with Leads, Project Managers, business stakeholders, development teams, and testing teams. Identify gaps in test coverage, test data, requirements, and process validation. Support timely completion of testing activities in accordance with agreed quality and delivery standards. Maintain test evidence, requirement traceability, defect records, execution results, and project documentation. Consider data security, operational efficiency, and responsible use of test environments and resources.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered. Minimum 4+ years of experience in software testing, payment testing, Way4 testing, or related technology roles. Certifications in software testing, Agile, test automation, or payment technologies are preferred. Complete Synechron-required training related to information security, data protection, payment systems, workplace conduct, and responsible technology use. Maintain continuous professional development in Way4, acquiring processes, payment testing, SOD/ETL validation, reporting, defect management, and testing practices.
