Job summary

Siemens in Thane is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader with 10–12 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in transformer manufacturing. The position involves managing end-to-end warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and coordination with procurement, QA, and planning teams.

Qualifications

  • Graduation in engineering or diploma in engineering.
  • 10–12 years of warehouse management experience, preferably in transformer manufacturing.
  • Lead/Internal Auditor for ISO 9001/14001/45001.
  • Proficiency in SAP MM, MS Office and strong email communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in Lean manufacturing and cost-optimization of warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

  • Full-cycle warehouse management including goods receipt, storage, kitting, dispatch and 3PL coordination.
  • Oversee multiple plants/warehouses, space and utility management for daily operations.
  • Ensure accurate material movement within SAP within specified timelines.
  • Monitor FIFO, stock checks, and scrap/rejection processes with procurement.
  • Coordinate with QA, commercial, and planning teams on material availability and disposition.

Job description- Warehouse Team Leader
Key Responsibilities:
  • Full-cycle warehouse management: Goods receipt, GRN, storage, preservation, kitting, dispatch, 3PL
  • Managing operations of multiple plants/warehouses, space & utility management for day-to-day operations in the warehouse.
  • Managing materials to prevent any damage during operations in the warehouse or during delivery to production.
  • Monitoring process of physical quantity verification of all the consignments & reporting of any damages/short or extra supply or
  • any other issues to procurement team.
  • Posting of ‘A’ class materials to production order/sales order. Maintaining Inventory levels (Inventory control) as per
  • management directions.
  • GRIR: Monitoring of pending invoice valuation report weekly & monthly.
  • Monitoring the kit Issuing plan of the production department as per requisitions to meet the production schedule.
  • Monitoring rejection process of material at incoming inspection stage.
  • Monitoring process of dispatching the raw materials to supplier for processing & reconciliation of vendor stock as per set
  • process & guidelines.
  • Ensuring the transactional accuracy for all material movements in SAP within specifi ed time limits.
  • Monitoring process of handing over duly signed quantity verified Invoices to QA & fi nally to commercial department.
  • Participating in review meetings with purchase/planning function for material arrangement on time, providing shortage intimations to team.
  • Monitoring FIFO process of shelf-life materials and the scrapping procedures of obsolete materials as per approved list.
  • Approving challans, M form, scrap note, Form 3, Form 2 (A) E waste form for outward movement of materials.
  • Executing annual perpetual stock-take activities per guidelines from commercials. Stock-take audit co‑ordination & resolution
  • in case of query. Managing the inventory variance cost within the permissible limits.
  • Practicing & maintaining the 5s & LEAN 7w systems in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse.
  • Ensuring integration of IMS (QMS+EHS) requirements into processes. Fulfi lling the compliance of internal & external audits.
  • Promotion, communication & implementation of IMS (QMS/EHS) objectives, processes & guidelines.
  • Review with the team on IMS (QMS+EHS) issues, promoting openness, transparency & accuracy in reporting.
  • Attending meetings, communicating & coordinating with internal agencies.
  • Handling departmental Capex, PR generation, payment tracking & coordinating with concern agencies.
  • Approving the expense claim & leaves of teammates.
  • Initiation & fulfillment of the actions for new recruits in the warehouse if any.
  • Monthly/Annually KPI monitoring, updating & reporting, MIS reporting.
  • Implementing development projects viz. digitalization projects.
  • Monitoring preventive maintenance schedule, tool‑tackles calibration records of department, follow up & co‑ordination with
  • maintenance department, resolution of maintenance issues if any.
Qualification/Skills required:
  • Minimum qualification required - Graduation in engineering or Diploma in engineering.
  • Minimum experience of 10-12 years in Warehouse management, preferably in a Transformer manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a Lead/Internal Auditor for ISO 9001/14001/45001
  • Proficiency in SAP MM, MS Office & required good communications skills & prompt approach for email management.
  • Skilled at driving strategic initiatives, new project setup (warehouses/machines), and optimizing the cost of operation.
  • Must be Knowledgeable in ‘Lean manufacturing’ and streamlining operations with productivity improvement in warehouse functions.
