Job description

We are seeking a Senior Functional Tester with 4-6 years of experience to join our team in Mumbai or Bangalore. The ideal candidate will be a Functional Manual Tester with strong domain expertise in Investment Banking / Capital Markets, responsible for validating business requirements and ensuring high-quality delivery of applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze functional specifications, user stories, and requirements to create detailed manual Test Plans, Test Scenarios, and Test Cases.
• Perform various testing types including Smoke, Sanity, Integration, System, and Regression testing.
• Conduct UAT to validate that software meets end-user expectations and business goals.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (developers, BAs, product owners) to clarify requirements and provide quality feedback throughout the STLC.
• Identify, document, and track defects using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Write SQL queries for backend data validation.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to integrate quality early in the development cycle.
• Work effectively within a large IT team environment, collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
• Engage in large-scale programs involving multiple internal/external system integrations and centralized data lake architectures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Engineering graduate or post-graduate (B.E., B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA) from a top-tier institution.
• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in Quality Assurance Manual Functional Testing.
• Strong understanding of Testing concepts and Test Documentation.
• Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Experience working in Agile (Scrum) methodology, including active participation in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Experience in Manual Functional Testing – UI, API, Database testing.
• Hands-on experience in writing SQL queries and database testing.
• Must be experienced with all aspects of test life cycle - writing test plans and cases, test execution, defect triage, reports, and metrics.
• Strong knowledge of Finance, Investments, Portfolio Management, Portfolio Construction, OCIO applications and extensive asset management experience especially trading/cash/new mandates workflows.
• Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively within cross-functional teams (Written as well as Verbal/Spoken).
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage priorities effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
