Job summary

The Friday Project in Chennai is seeking a versatile videographer/editor to shoot and cut dynamic reels across food, jewellery, beauty, lifestyle, and hospitality brands. You’ll move fast, manage on-set lighting and sound, and deliver social-first pieces.

On days with shoots you’ll be on-ground; on non-shoot days you’ll contribute in-office. Proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and CapCut is essential; familiarity with Sony Alpha is a plus.

Chennai (hybrid: in-office on non-shoot days, on-ground for shoots)

The Friday Project runs content for 20+ brands across food & beverage, jewellery, beauty, lifestyle, and hospitality. That means a heavy shoot calendar: food reels, talking-head reels, product shoots, brand films, and fast social content, often multiple brands in a single week.

We need a videographer/editor who can shoot and cut, move fast across very different brand worlds, and deliver reels that actually perform.

The role

• Shoot across multiple brand shoots every week: food, product, talking-head, lifestyle
• Operate a gimbal confidently.
• Run lighting, framing, and sound on set, often solo
• Edit for social: reels and shorts with strong pacing and trend awareness, plus more polished brand pieces
• Adapt your style shoot to shoot.

Technical skills (must-have)

• Comfortable shooting on Sony Alpha (our primary camera)
• Colour grading: you can take footage from flat to finished
• Strong editing craft: speed ramping, seamless transitions, beat-matching to music, smooth cuts, sound design, and clean text/motion animation
• Solid grasp of lighting, framing, composition, and on-set audio

Tools

• Premiere Pro across a full shoot-to-edit pipeline (core)
• After Effects for motion and graphics
• DaVinci Resolve for grading
• CapCut or similar for fast social turnarounds
• Photoshop or Lightroom a bonus
• Reliable and punctual. Shoots run on schedule and we protect client time
• Hybrid setup: on-ground for shoots, in-office on non-shoot days
• Clear communicator with the team and on set
