Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own and drive end-to-end headend project delivery including system integration and operations.
• Design, implement, and manage digital headend systems in IPTV/OTT/DTH/CATV environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot video infrastructure components such as IRD, Encoders, MUX, Packager, and Origin Servers.
• Integrate and manage CAS/DRM systems and ensure content protection compliance.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize video quality, streaming performance, and bitrate ladder management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of broadcast content to multiple platforms.
• Provide 24x7 support coverage, as needed, and handle incident resolution with minimal downtime.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Video Headend Engineer to join our dynamic Broadcast & IPTV operations team. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth technical expertise in digital headend systems, video encoding/transcoding, and conditional access integration. This role is critical for supporting end-to-end delivery of IPTV/OTT projects and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and drive end-to-end headend project delivery including system integration and operations.
• Design, implement, and manage digital headend systems in IPTV/OTT/DTH/CATV environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot video infrastructure components such as IRD, Encoders, MUX, Packager, and Origin Servers.
• Integrate and manage CAS/DRM systems and ensure content protection compliance.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize video quality, streaming performance, and bitrate ladder management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of broadcast content to multiple platforms.
• Provide 24x7 support coverage, as needed, and handle incident resolution with minimal downtime.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong expertise in video encoding/transcoding standards (CBR/VBR).
• End-to-end understanding of MPEG standards (MPEG-2, MPEG-4), DVB protocols, and video delivery formats (HLS, DASH).
• Experience with conditional access systems (CAS) and digital rights management (DRM).
• Hands-on experience with equipment from ATEME, Broadpeak, and other broadcast system vendors.
• Knowledge of streaming protocols (HLS, DASH, RTMP, SRT) and network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, IGMP, UDP, RTP).
• Advanced understanding of networking components – switches, routers, firewalls.
• Ability to troubleshoot and analyze transport streams and perform root cause analysis for signal issues.
• Flexibility to work in a 24x7 operations support environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Linux and Windows OS for server management.
• Understanding of basic database concepts.
• CCNA-level networking knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word for reporting and documentation.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics/Electrical/E&T/C/Computer Science Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
