Job summary

KUKU is hiring a Video Editor - Kannada to craft high-retention promos for microdramas and short-form fiction. You will translate scripts and audio into visually compelling promos that establish emotion, conflict, and curiosity, with strong openings and narrative progression.

In a fast-paced, collaboration-heavy environment, you will edit across platforms (Meta, YouTube, Shorts, Reels) using Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Final Cut Pro, and iterate based on feedback from writers and growth

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Video Editor, preferably in promos, trailers, or short-form storytelling.
• Strong command over pacing, timing, framing, continuity and rhythm.
• Basic know-how of graphics such as fast cuts, GFX and SFX.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro or equivalents.
• Ability to translate scripts and audio into engaging visuals.

About the Role

We are hiring a Video Editor - Kannada with strong fundamentals in editing and storytelling to work on promotional content for microdramas and short-form fiction.This role focuses on crafting high-retention, performance-driven promos—trailers, short clips, and ad creatives that quickly establish emotion, conflict, and curiosity. The ideal candidate understands pacing, rhythm, and visual storytelling, and has exposure to Kannada Language.

Core Requirements

• Proven experience as a Video Editor, preferably in promos, trailers, or short-form storytelling content.
• Strong command over video editing fundamentals: pacing, timing, framing, continuity, and rhythm
• Basic know-how of graphics (fast-paced, quick cuts, GFX SFX, etc)
• Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent.
• Ability to understand narrative intent and translate audio or script-based stories into engaging visuals.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, execution-heavy environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience editing content for microdramas, OTT promos, short films, fiction content, or performance marketing creatives.
• Fluency in Kannada, or prior experience working on Kannada-language or international-facing content.
• Familiarity with US or global content consumption patterns (short-form, binge-driven storytelling).
• Working knowledge of motion graphics, typography, or basic animation.
• Experience editing content optimized for social platforms and ad creatives.
• Exposure to AI-assisted tools for visuals or workflows is a plus (not mandatory).
