ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking to hire a talented and experienced Video Editor to join the Indulge Express content team in Kolkata. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in video editing, post-production, and digital content creation, with a passion for visual storytelling and lifestyle content. The role involves editing and producing high-quality video content for digital platforms, enhancing editorial content through creative storytelling, and collaborating with the editorial and production teams to deliver engaging visual experiences across food, fashion, culture, travel, entertainment, and lifestyle.

The successful candidate should possess excellent technical expertise in modern video editing techniques, a creative mind-set, and the ability to work in a fast-paced newsroom while maintaining the highest journalistic and production standards.

Responsibilities

Edit and produce high-quality video content for digital and social media platforms.
Review raw footage and determine the best shots to create compelling visual stories.
Trim, cut, and arrange footage, ensuring smooth transitions, high-quality sound effects, and appropriate background music.
Perform colour grading and colour correction to maintain consistency with the organization's visual identity.
Add graphics, text overlays, captions, subtitles, and special effects to enhance video quality and accessibility.
Design compelling thumbnails and visual assets for digital platforms.
Handle and organize raw and edited video files efficiently.
Export videos in appropriate formats for publishing across digital platforms.
Collaborate closely with the editorial and production teams to ensure timely delivery of video content.
Stay updated with the latest trends in video editing, digital content, lifestyle, entertainment, and social media platforms.
Ensure all video content complies with the highest journalistic and editorial standards.
Optimize videos for digital platforms to maximize audience engagement.
Meet production deadlines while maintaining quality and creative excellence.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Visual Communication, Film Studies, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in video editing or post-production, preferably in news, digital, podcasts, interviews, lifestyle, or entertainment media.
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, Photoshop, and Lightroom.
Strong understanding of video editing principles, visual storytelling, pacing, audio synchronization, and color correction.
Strong knowledge of motion graphics, effects, inserts, and fast-paced video editing.
Familiarity with AI tools used for video editing, content creation, and creative workflows.
Good understanding of the Instagram and Facebook ecosystem, including platform-specific video formats and content requirements.
Creative and artistic skills with a keen eye for detail.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Previous experience in news, lifestyle, or entertainment media is preferred.
