Job summary

BNY is seeking a Vice President, Senior Auditor, Operations Audit, to join the Audit team in Pune. You will lead or participate in complex audits of operational functions, coach junior staff, and drive remediation with stakeholders across Global Operations, Custody Services, and Payments.

Ideal candidates have 8–15 years in financial services auditing, a master’s degree, and professional certifications (MBA/CPA/CFA preferred).

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of experience in financial services or banking within Internal Audit or Second Line Risk.
• Master’s degree or equivalent; accounting/finance degree; MBA, CPA, CFA or related certifications preferred.
• Proven experience auditing Operations functions within a financial institution.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in delivering complex Operations audits.
• Plan, fieldwork and report audits with consideration of complex business processes.
• Coach junior colleagues and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify issues impacting business and challenge management for remediation.
• Prepare audit reports and follow up on actions taken.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and contribute to continuous monitoring.
• Act as SME for Internal Audit on Global Operations, Custody Services and Payments.
• Contribute to annual audit plan and keep up-to-date with regulations.

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Senior Auditor, Operations Audit, to join our Audit team. This role is located in Pune.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Lead or participate in delivering complex and challenging Operations audits.
• Lead or participate in the end-to-end planning, fieldwork and reporting of audit assignments – this will require consideration of complex, judgemental business processes and decisions
• Coach younger colleagues, review their work, and give meaningful feedback.
• Identify meaningful issues impacting business and operations under review, challenging management to ensure appropriate remedial action has been taken to address the issues identified.
• Prepare draft audit reports
• Follow‑up of audit actions and where necessary testing their implementation.
• Build and proactively manage relationships with key stakeholders and participate in Continuous Monitoring activities
• Act as a subject matter expert for Internal Audit on Global Operations, Custody Services and Payments
• Contributes to the development of the annual audit plan.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of industry best practice and regulatory requirements
• Carry out other ad‑hoc tasks and projects as directed by audit senior management.
• Represents Internal Audit on projects and at management meetings/committees

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• 8‑15 years experience working in financial services or banking within Internal Audit or Second Line Risk
• Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required. Degree in accounting, finance, or relevant specialty preferred. MBA, CPA, CFA or related certifications preferred.
• Proven experience auditing Operations functions within a financial institution.
• Strong communication, influencing skills and confident in communicating with stakeholders both internal and external both written and verbal with the ability to influence at a senior level
• In depth knowledge of audit methodologies
• Excellent planning, co‑ordination, organisation, and presentation skills
• Self‑starter with a high degree of self‑sufficiency
• Strong knowledge and use of Excel and other Microsoft software – PowerPoint, Word, Visio
• Thrives in a fast‑paced environment and adaptable to change
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, including with colleagues remotely
