Job summary

Barclays in Chennai is seeking a Data Engineering Delivery Lead to build and maintain pipelines, warehouses and lakes, ensuring secure and scalable data infrastructure. You will design data ecosystems and collaborate with data scientists to deploy ML models.

The role requires hands-on Oracle, Hive/Hadoop, and cloud experience (AWS). Leadership and strong communication are essential for guiding large-scale transformations.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle Database.
• Extensive experience with Hive, Hadoop Ecosystem, and large-scale data processing.
• Strong cloud data engineering experience using AWS Athena, S3, Glue, Lambda.
• Expertise Oracle: understanding existing SQL queries and writing medium to complex SQL queries.
• Cloud certifications will be a plus.
• Experience with Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT, Data Lakes, and Data Modeling.
• Knowledge of Python, Shell Scripting, SQL optimization, and performance tuning.
• CI/CD, DevOps, Git, Jenkins, and Agile delivery practices.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale regulatory, finance, risk, or analytics platforms preferred.
• Knowledge of other DB technologies: Postgres, MongoDB, Snowflake, DBT.
• Knowledge of other orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
• Knowledge of Data Lakes, Lake Houses, Medallion Architecture.

Job Description Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.

Accountabilities

Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data. Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures. Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes. Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.
