Job summary

Mediatechtemple is seeking a backend engineer to lead real-time Voice AI and telephony projects in India. You will work with Python, asyncio and event-driven architectures to design scalable systems handling SIP, WebRTC and VoIP integrations.

The role involves integrating STT, TTS and LLM APIs, guiding architectures, and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates should have hands-on experience with LiveKit, FreeSWITCH/Asterisk and production troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of backend/software engineering experience.
• Strong Python, asyncio, concurrency experience.
• Hands-on with Voice AI/voicebots, SIP, VoIP, FreeSWITCH/Asterisk, LiveKit.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and operation of real-time Voice AI and telephony systems.

• Integrate STT, TTS and LLM APIs for conversational AI applications.
• Manage call flows, routing, dialplans, session management and gateway integrations.
• Troubleshoot SIP/VoIP, latency, audio quality, reliability and concurrency issues.
• Drive scalability, monitoring, production support and permanent technical fixes.
• Review architecture/code, mentor engineers and coordinate technical delivery.

Preferred Candidate

• 4-5 years of backend/software engineering experience.
• Strong Python, asyncio, concurrency and event-driven systems knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with Voice AI/voicebots, SIP, VoIP, FreeSWITCH/Asterisk and LiveKit.
• Good understanding of WebRTC, real-time audio, STT/TTS/LLM APIs.
• Strong debugging, system design and production troubleshooting skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers and owning systems from design to production.
