Role summary
Design intuitive, accessible and inclusive digital experiences for citizen services and internal monitoring dashboards. The designer makes sure services reach citizens across literacy levels, devices and languages, including Hindi-first users on low-end mobiles.
Key responsibilities
- Lead user research: field visits, citizen and department-official interviews, journey mapping and pain-point analysis for service delivery workflows
- Create wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes and user flows for web portals, mobile apps and dashboards
- Build and maintain a unified design system (components, typography, iconography, color tokens) across CMSDC applications
- Ensure compliance with GIGW 3.0, WCAG 2.1 (AA) and the Rajasthan Government's branding and UX guidelines
- Design bilingual (Hindi/English) interfaces with proper localization, and low-bandwidth and mobile-first layouts
- Run usability testing and A/B tests, and iterate on analytics and feedback
- Work with developers, data analysts and department stakeholders to convert requirements into implementable designs, and review UI builds before release
- Design dashboard visualizations for senior leadership, including real-time service delivery and grievance monitoring views
Required skills
- Figma (primary), Adobe XD / Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop
- Strong grasp of information architecture, interaction design and accessibility
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and responsive design
- Experience with design systems and dashboard/data-heavy UI
- Ability to communicate design rationale clearly to non-technical government stakeholders
Desirable
- Experience with e-Governance platforms (e.g. SSO, e-Mitra, Jan Aadhaar-integrated services)
- Knowledge of Devanagari typography and voice/IVR or chatbot conversation design
- Portfolio showing published citizen-facing products
