WizMantra Ace Pvt Ltd. is seeking an Online American English Accent Tutor to coach professionals across India in GA pronunciation. This part-time, 1-on-1 role focuses on sounds, rhythm, and intonation for clearer communication in calls and meetings.

You’ll guide learners through targeted drills, provide feedback, and track progress over a planned 20-class month cycle. Remote work from India with flexible early/late slots.

Qualifications

• Speak clear, natural General American English and can explain mouth movements.
• Have taught accent, voice and pronunciation or TESOL/CELTA holders welcome.
• Know the difference between sounding accented and being hard to understand.
• Can spot Hindi, Tamil, Bengali or Marathi influence on English and adjust the plan.
• Be patient with adults who feel embarrassed about how they speak.

Responsibilities

• Coach one-on-one online sessions focused on American pronunciation.
• Provide corrective feedback on articulation and sound production.
• Deliver 30-minute sessions and track student progress.
• Use listening drills and real conversation scenarios to build fluency.
• Record progress notes and adjust plans based on improvement.

Job Title: American English Accent Tutor (Online)

Location: Remote, anywhere in India

Job Type: Part-Time, 1-on-1 classes of 30 minutes

About the Role

Our students are Indian professionals: call centre and BPO agents, IT staff on US client calls, people moving to the US and Canada. Most of them don’t need to sound American. They need Americans to understand them the first time. You’ll coach that, one student at a time, on our 20 class a month plan.

What you’ll actually teach:

• The sounds that cost the most understanding first: TH (thin, this), V and W (vine, wine), short vowels (ship, sheep) and word stress (PHOtograph, phoTOgraphy).
• The American R, flap T (water, better) and linking, once the high cost sounds are fixed.
• Rhythm, intonation and connected speech (gonna, wanna, whaddaya) for real calls and meetings.
• Listening drills with many different American voices, because hearing a contrast comes before saying it.
• Short recordings at week 1 and week 12 so the student can hear their own progress.

You’ll be a good fit if you:

• Speak clear, natural General American English, and can explain what your mouth is doing when you say it.
• Have taught accent, voice and accent training, or pronunciation before (BPO trainers, voice coaches and TESOL/CELTA holders all welcome).
• Know the difference between sounding accented and being hard to understand, and teach the second.
• Can spot Hindi, Tamil, Bengali or Marathi influence on English and adjust the plan for it.
• Are patient with adults who feel embarrassed about how they speak.

Nice to have:

• IPA, minimal pair drills, or tools like Praat and ELSA.
• Experience with US process voice certification (Versant, SVAR).

Setup you need:

reliable internet, a headset with a good mic, a quiet room, and Google Meet.

Hours:

Mostly early morning, evening and weekend slots, since students work. Tell us the hours you can give.
