Job summary

Siemens Ltd, India in Worli, Mumbai invites an experienced Treasury Manager to lead currency risk management across all Siemens businesses. Reporting to Head – Treasury Risk Management, South Asia, you will collaborate with project managers and Fx traders to identify exposures and implement hedging strategies.

• Qualified CA or CMA or MBA Finance or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in corporate treasury/finance, esp. FX & commodity risk, or project finance.
• Experience in crafting and optimizing processes, preferably with digitalization & automation.
• Experience in project management delivering projects beyond daily tasks.
• Ability to manage multiple partners' expectations and collaborate with business teams.
• Knowledge of accounting incl hedge accounting; proficient in SAP and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for Currency Management for Siemens businesses; advise on foreign currency risk mitigation.
• Collate currency exposure, review cash flows with Project Commercial Managers, and initiate consolidated hedge requests.
• Provide rates for offer calculations and monitor contingent FX exposure; update rates monthly.
• Report monthly Net Foreign Currency Position and quarterly currency & commodity exposure & hedging status to management.
• Advise on Hedge Accounting application and embedded derivatives; monitor accounting impact of FX transactions.
• Manage stakeholders and collaborate with regional teams; drive digitalization and automation in processes.
• FX Dealing: execute hedging deals with banks/exchanges and manage the Siemens hedge book; ensure market best practices.

Job Description

• First point of contact for all Currency Management tasks for businesses; Support the Business/Project Commercial Managers in the identification of foreign currency risks & advise on mitigation of such risk including assessing the level of risk mitigation in case of currency clause usage


• Collate foreign currency exposure from businesses, review project cash flows together with the Project Commercial Managers and initiate consolidated hedge requests to Fx Trader; Monitor the outstanding hedge book and give timely updates to Fx Trader to initiate rollovers/cancellations based on changes to underlying exposures and expected cashflow. Identifying & hedging Balance sheet exposures in line with Siemens policy


• Provide rates for offer calculation to the businesses and monitor significant contingent foreign currency exposure, post updating the offer calculation rate every month


• Report monthly Net Foreign Currency Position and also, on a quarterly basis, report to management on foreign currency & commodity exposure & hedging status


• Advise the Commercial Managers on the appropriate application of Hedge Accounting and the accounting impact of foreign currency transactions and support in the identification of Embedded Derivatives


• Management of Stakeholders - Must build transparency and trust across all partners; Collaborate effectively with business teams & other regional currency management teams outside India, implement standard methodologies, with a clear focus on digitalization & automation

  • Executing deals with banks and exchanges to hedge Siemens’ Fx & commodity exposure and managing Siemens’ hedge book
  
  
  • Demonstrating proficiency and adhering to market best practices in all dealings in the market
  
  
  • Managing reporting requirements in line with Central bank regulations and Siemens internal guidelines
  
  
  • Continuously monitor and improve the existing Fx & commodity exposure management landscape by designing and implementing automated risk management processes

• Placement of deposits with banks or group companies / mutual funds – adhering to internal policies, counterparty limits and external regulations; achieving optimal returns on surplus funds by following best market practices

• You are a qualified Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant or have completed a university Master’s degree in business administration (with specialization in finance) or a similar field


• You bring at least 7+ years of professional experience in a corporate treasury/finance environment, preferably in areas of foreign exchange & commodity risk exposure management and/or business commercial / project finance


• Experience in crafting and optimizing processes is required, preferably within a digitalization & automation context


• Experience in project management by delivering projects by yourself beyond daily operational tasks


• Ability to manage multiple partners’ expectations. Intense collaboration with the businesses will be the key


• Good knowledge of accounting incl hedge accounting required. Proficient in SAP & MS office suite
