We’re looking for a high-caliber professional to join our team as Officer, Transaction Manager - Loan Syndication Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Transaction Manager – C10) based in Pune, India.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the build and development team to support loan origination and lifecycle management, including large complex syndicated and bilateral loans covering corporate, commercial, real estate, structured lending, and trade.
- Assist with the creation of processes, standards, procedures, controls, training, and implementation of transaction management.
- Aid in the design and implementation of technology, including testing and rollout.
- Provide training and support to transaction management staff and business constituents.
- Partner with each of the originating and coverage business lines, credit risk, operations, legal, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure that the quality of data, controls and processes meets internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Work with lines of business, transaction management, and loan operations to define and implement operational metrics and risk and control reviews for end‑to‑end transparency.
- Constantly improve processes, controls and efficiencies within the group and front‑to‑back across the loan lifecycle.
- Participate in projects to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Take part in loan remediation and loan system testing / migrations.
- Actively manage and maintain a deal closing pipeline of loan transactions.
- Coordinate and close loan transactions/lifecycle events, capture data, store documentation, troubleshoot issues, and perform quality control.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, policies and ethical standards, and escalating control issues with transparency.
Core Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage priorities and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Quantitative skills with strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
- Familiarity with Tableau or other visualization tools.
- Experience with Loan IQ, transaction capture tools, or similar systems.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Client‑relationship and solution‑oriented skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting wholesale lending at a large financial institution.
- Knowledge of wholesale loan (syndicated / bilateral) products and services, including legal documentation, loan mechanics, deal structure, and fund flows.
- Ability to collaborate with team members, senior management and other business constituents.
- Critical decision‑making capabilities and the ability to identify, elevate and propose solutions to problems.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with experience following up with multiple stakeholders.
- Understanding of corporate and regulatory policies related to lending.
- Deep understanding of operational processes supporting wholesale lending.
- Focus on achieving or exceeding key operating standards within a KPI/metrics‑driven culture.
- Comfortable working in an environment where priorities frequently change.
