Job summary

ETS is seeking a Trainer (Assessments) in Delhi to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy through capacity‑building modules for teachers and SCERT/DIET staff, with a focus on assessment design and data use.

The role requires planning and delivering training programs, mentoring field personnel, and ensuring alignment with state strategies and NEP 2020 reforms, delivering hands‑on content and SOPs for sustained impact.

Qualifications

• Post‑graduate degree in Education/Mathematics/Language.
• D.El.Ed./B.Ed./M.Ed. is preferable.
• 5+ years of professional experience of teaching or training or relevant experience in assessment design/content creation.
• Experience in developing and delivering training modules/manuals on pedagogy, assessments, and data use.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills; ability to work with SCERT, DIETs, and teachers.
• Experience in Education Assessment project for government entity is preferred.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in multi‑stakeholder environments, including with government agencies or education boards.
• Experience in creating reports, presentations, and operational documentation for large‑scale projects.
• Familiarity with data collection tools, survey platforms, and analysis methodologies.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, project management tools, and online survey platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop structured capacity‑building modules and manuals for teachers and SCERT/DIET faculty, focusing on FLN at Grades 3 and 5.
• Plan and deliver training programmes on assessment frameworks, methodologies, and the creation and use of assessment data to inform classroom practice.
• Develop hands‑on, practice‑oriented training content with a learning‑by‑doing approach.
• Provide continuous mentoring and on‑site academic support, including coaching and PLCs.
• Design and deliver customized training modules on data‑driven decision‑making for teachers to interpret learning evidence.
• Establish SOPs for regular review and institutionalization of training and assessment practices.
• Support training of field personnel involved in large‑scale assessments and orientation on protocols.
• Ensure alignment with state strategies, SCERT priorities, and NEP 2020 reforms.
• Work with SMEs and assessment experts to align capacity building with project activities.

Position Summary

The Trainer will demonstrate academic knowledge and skills in capacity building effort with focus on strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) across grades Ka-Sreni to grade 5. The role will contribute to the design and delivery of capacity‑building initiatives for teachers, DIETs, and SCERT officials/ faculty, with a strong emphasis on assessment‑led improvement, including assessment design and framework development. The position will contribute to development of training modules on school‑based and large-scale assessments, pedagogy, and effective use of data. The role will support institutionalization of assessment and training practices aligned with state priorities and national education reforms.

The trainer must also be a strong team player, working with internal groups as well as outside experts in their field of specialty.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and develop structured capacity‑building modules and manuals for teachers and SCERT/DIET faculty, with a focus on strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) at Grades 3 and 5.
• Plan and deliver training programmes on assessment frameworks, methodologies, and the creation and effective use of assessment data (school‑based and large‑scale) to inform and improve classroom practice.
• Develop hands‑on, practice‑oriented training content, embedding a “learning‑by‑doing” approach across all training and facilitation activities.
• Provide continuous mentoring and on‑site academic support, including coaching, follow‑ups, and initiation of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to ensure sustained engagement and accountability on the part of teachers.
• Design and deliver customized training modules on data‑driven decision‑making, enabling teachers and academic functionaries to interpret and use learning evidence effectively.
• Establish mechanisms and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for regular review, refinement, and institutionalization of training and assessment practices within the state system.
• Support training of field personnel involved in the conduct of large‑scale assessments, including orientation on assessment protocols and quality assurance processes.
• Ensure alignment of all content and delivery with relevant state strategies, SCERT priorities, and national education policies (including FLN and assessment reforms).
• Work in close collaboration with other domain experts such as SMEs and assessment experts to align capacity building efforts with the overall project activities and tasks.

Minimum Qualification

• Post‑graduate degree in Education/Mathematics/Language

Desirable Qualification

• D.El.Ed./B.Ed./M.Ed. is preferable.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience of teaching or training experience or relevant experience in assessment design/content creation.
• Experience in developing and delivering training modules/manuals on pedagogy, assessments, and data use
