Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Bengaluru to coordinate and optimize manufacturing operations, deliver required drawings, and drive continuous improvement. The role requires a BE in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering with 10–12 years of Oil & Gas/Power Plant experience, and a strong background in lean methods and process optimization.

Role Definition

A Manufacturing Engineer is Responsible for co-ordinating and optimizing manufacturing operations. The role ensures that production targets are met in terms of drawing and supporting files delivery while driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting plant engineers.

• Researching new materials and competitive products. Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
• Evaluate and improve existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
• Apply advanced manufacturing techniques and lean methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Design and develop custom tooling, jigs, and fixtures required for specialized fabrication.
• Conduct time studies and cost analyses to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization
• Responsible for fabrication processes for pressure vessels, piping systems, and other large-scale structures.
• Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance. Overseeing the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.
• Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents. Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.

Degree Requirement

Requires a degree in Bachelor of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Engineering institute with10-12 years of Oil and Gas/ Power Plant Experience.
