Job summary

Deutsche Bank in Mumbai, India, seeks an Associate Threat Intelligence Analyst to join the Threat Intelligence function within the CSO. The role focuses on physical threat intelligence, leading the IPR team to transform data into actionable insights and to support risk mitigation, crisis management, and business continuity planning.

  • The Threat Intelligence Analyst role sits within the Threat Intelligence function in the Chief Security Office (CSO), which works to proactively detect and disrupt physical and cyber threats against Deutsche Bank as part of its mission to be a threat-driven organisation. This role is primarily focused on physical threat intelligence, while remaining aligned with the broader threat intelligence mandate.
  • The Physical Threat Intelligence Analyst is responsible for proactively identifying, monitoring, analysing, and assessing physical security threats that could affect the organisation’s people, assets, operations, reputation, and overall resilience. The role requires systematic collection and evaluation of intelligence from a broad range of sources, including open-source reporting, vendor intelligence, professional networks, and internal stakeholders. By monitoring global, regional, and local risk developments, the analyst produces timely, actionable, and clearly articulated threat assessments that support security operations, executive decision-making, crisis management, incident response, and business continuity planning. This position plays a critical role in helping the organisation anticipate emerging risks, understand their potential business impact, and implement appropriate mitigation measures in a dynamic threat environment.
  • This is an emerging leadership role suited to a candidate with prior experience managing intelligence analysts, developing team capability, and delivering time-sensitive intelligence products in support of Regional Intelligence Analysts across Deutsche Bank.
  • In addition to producing high-quality analysis, the candidate will lead the Information Processing & Research team (IPR), an internal team formed within the Threat Intelligence function. The IPR team transforms structured and unstructured data from multiple sources into high-quality intelligence, enabling data-driven threat identification and informed decision-making through robust collection and validation processes. The team partners with regional analysts through an intelligence-led approach to deliver actionable insights and identify key threat drivers, trends, and patterns across relevant areas of focus.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Threat Monitoring and Intelligence Collection
    • Identify, monitor, and report on geopolitical, regional, and local developments that may affect business operations, personnel, facilities, executive travel, and critical assets.
    • Collect and assess threat intelligence from HUMINT and OSINT sources, including vendors, professional networks, industry associations, social media, news feeds, commercial intelligence platforms, and other relevant sources.
    • Monitor physical security threats, including terrorism, crime, civil unrest, political instability, insider threats, targeted violence, and other emerging risk indicators.
  • Analysis, Reporting, and Intelligence Products
    • Conduct geopolitical, regional, and country risk analysis to identify emerging threats, operational impacts, trends, patterns, and relevant threat actors.
    • Produce timely intelligence reports, alerts, threat assessments, watchlists, and risk dashboards for stakeholders, leadership teams, and operational partners.
    • Deliver tactical and strategic intelligence through verbal briefings, presentations, written reports, and executive-level recommendations that support risk mitigation strategies.
  • Crisis, Incident, and Business Continuity Support
    • Provide time-critical intelligence during crisis events, emergencies, business continuity incidents, and security incidents to support informed decision-making and operational response.
    • Actively engage with crisis management teams and support security incident investigations through intelligence collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaboration, Methodology, and Standards
    • Collaborate with Corporate Security, Global Security Operations Centers, crisis management teams, information security operations, and external security partners.
    • Maintain intelligence databases, analytical methodologies, and reporting standards to ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality across intelligence products.
Your Skills And Experience
  • Subject-Matter Expertise
    • Strong knowledge of global geopolitics, international relations, and regional security dynamics, with particular focus on Asia Pacific and South Asia.
    • Experience in corporate intelligence operations, including coverage of terrorism, political and social unrest, epidemiological developments, natural hazards, and other relevant security risks.
  • Analytical Capability and Intelligence Production
    • Sound understanding of the intelligence life cycle, including collection, validation, analysis, production, and dissemination.
    • Ability to identify trends, patterns, threat actors, and indicators that may affect organisational operations, personnel, facilities, executive travel, and critical assets.
    • Ability to prepare clear intelligence products, executive-level briefings, and recommendations that support practical risk mitigation.
  • Tools, Sources, and Methodology
    • Experience using open-source intelligence, social media monitoring, news feeds, commercial intelligence platforms, and other relevant sources to identify threat indicators.
    • Experience maintaining intelligence databases, analytical methodologies, and reporting standards would be advantageous.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Operational Support
    • Experience working with incident response, crisis management, business continuity, or security operations teams.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and effectively to English-speaking stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Education and Professional Experience
    • Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as political science, international relations, history, security studies, or related discipline.
    • At least five years of experience in the security industry, geopolitical intelligence, threat intelligence, or a related analytical field.
    • Experience in the financial services industry would be advantageous.

Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
