Job summary

NTT DATA seeks a Testing Engineering Specialist to join our Chennai team. You will design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Java, Selenium, TestNG, and Cucumber (BDD).

You will implement BDD scenarios, automate API tests with Rest Assured, and perform end-to-end testing across web and backend systems while validating data with SQL and Cassandra. The role requires collaboration across Agile ceremonies and integration into CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation test frameworks using Java, Selenium, TestNG, and Cucumber (BDD).
• Implement BDD test scenarios with Gherkin, working with business and development teams to align with requirements.
• Automate API testing for RESTful services using Rest Assured.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing across web and backend systems.
• Perform database validation and backend data verification using SQL and Cassandra (NoSQL).
• Analyze test results, log defects with clear reproduction steps, and collaborate with developers for timely resolution.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies—stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives—and contribute to the overall quality strategy.
• Maintain test code using Git, following best practices for version control and team collaboration.
• Continuously improve test coverage, framework performance, and QA processes.
