Job summary

Aliqantechnologies invites a detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our Noida team on a contractual (extendable) basis. You will test Power BI dashboards and GIS-based web applications, validate data accuracy, and ensure end-to-end functionality across BI reports, GIS maps, APIs, and ETL processes.

You will perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and UAT testing, validate SQL-backed data, coordinate with data engineers and developers, and track defects in Jira.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of QA testing experience.
• 2+ years of Power BI dashboard testing.
• 1+ year of GIS application testing.
• Strong experience in Power BI dashboard validation and SQL-based data validation.
• Experience with API testing using Postman.
• Hands-on Jira defect tracking experience.
• Knowledge of ETL validation and BI applications.
• Experience with UAT and various testing types.

Responsibilities

• Test Power BI dashboards for functionality, data accuracy, and report interactions.
• Validate KPIs, charts, tables, and slicers.
• Perform SQL-based data validation against Power BI reports.
• Test GIS/web mapping apps: map rendering, layers, markers, boundaries, coordinates, spatial filters, heat maps.
• Validate integration between GIS sources and Power BI dashboards.
• Perform API testing with tools like Postman.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, and UAT testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects in Jira.
• Create and maintain test scenarios, cases, and execution reports.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and data engineers to resolve defects.
• Validate ETL processes and data refreshes.

Role Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Test Engineer with experience in testing Power BI dashboards and GIS-based web applications. The ideal candidate should have expertise in validating business intelligence reports, geospatial data visualization, data accuracy, and end-to-end application functionality. This role involves functional, data, UI, API, and performance testing of analytics dashboards and GIS applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Power BI dashboards for functionality, data accuracy, filters, drill-downs, bookmarks, and report interactions.
• Validate KPIs, charts, tables, slicers, and calculated measures.
• Perform SQL-based backend data validation against Power BI reports.
• Test GIS/web mapping applications, including:
  • Map rendering
  • Layers
  • Markers
  • Geospatial boundaries
  • Coordinate accuracy
  • Spatial filtering
  • Heat maps
• Validate integration between GIS data sources and Power BI dashboards.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Identify, document, and track defects using Jira.
• Create and maintain test scenarios, test cases, and test execution reports.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and data engineers to resolve defects and improve application quality.
• Validate ETL processes and scheduled data refreshes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance (QA) testing.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Power BI dashboard testing.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in GIS application testing.
• Strong experience in:
  • Power BI dashboard validation
  • SQL-based data validation
  • Functional, regression, integration, smoke, and UAT testing
  • API testing using Postman
• Experience creating and executing test cases and defect reports.
• Hands-on experience with Jira for defect tracking.
• Good understanding of data validation, ETL processes, and business intelligence applications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of ArcGIS or QGIS.
• Experience with spatial databases such as PostGIS.
• Understanding of ETL pipelines and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium or Playwright.
• Experience working on Data Warehouse or Business Intelligence (BI) projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology (B.E./B.Tech.).
• Base location should be Noida, with flexibility to travel as required.
