Job description

As a Test automation engineer, you will support the organization, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities.

Qualifications

To be a successful Test automation engineer you should have experience with:

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Examples of relevant technologies: Java, Selenium/Playwright, Rest-Assured, API Testing, Rest API.
  • Strong working experience of more than 5 years in “Automation Testing” and CI/CD pipeline (Gitlab, Jenkins).
  • Test script and test data creation. Perform component testing and end‑to‑end testing.
  • Active involvement in demonstration for the Jira’s / deliverables.
  • Raise concerns/issues regularly in time with your POD Lead / QA Lead / SM.
  • Create test strategy and test scenarios for system (component) and SIT, end‑to‑end testing.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with business to understand their expectations and feedback.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with testing team to understand their progress.
  • Actively work on daily status reports, monitor risk, assumptions, issues and dependencies occurring during each phase of projects.
  • Create and publish dashboards for X Ray and defects and actively work on trendlines for the same.
  • Document all testing artifacts and evidence for the scenarios executed.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Regular monitoring and maintenance of test regression test suits for regression and sanity.
  • Troubleshoot test scripts issues occurring during health checks, sanity, and regression.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Actively work and participate in creation & sign‑off on test scenarios, test evidence/results and test closure report from stakeholders.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, to ensure software quality and reliability.

  • Creation and execution of automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues.
  • Collaboration with cross‑functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria, ensuring a thorough understanding of the software being tested.
  • Root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
