Job summary

Siemens Technology and Services Private Limited in Pune seeks a Test Architect for Automatic Train Protection (ATP) in railway infrastructure. The role focuses on defining test strategy, leading multi-domain testing, and ensuring safety-compliant verification across ATP systems.

You will mentor teams, coordinate with systems engineering, software, hardware, RAMS and safety teams, and drive test automation and real-hardware testing in a safety-critical environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Computer Science / Instrumentation / Control Systems required.
• 10–15+ years in railway transportation systems with testing focus.
• Fluent English; German/Spanish is an asset.
• Hands-on testing experience in ETCS L2 / KAVACH.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern the overall test strategy, architecture, coverage and acceptance criteria for ATP-based railway systems.
• Lead testing across requirements, integration, interface, system, performance, safety, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Ensure compliance with CENELEC EN 50126/50128/50129 and support safety assessments and certification.
• Provide technical leadership for ETCS Level 2, KAVACH, or other ATP systems, including train-to-track testing.
• Develop and review test plans, specifications, procedures, reports, and traceability.
• Define and manage simulation, test bench, and real-hardware environments for normal, degraded, and failure scenarios.
• Lead system integration and interface testing across ATP, Interlocking, Communications, Train Positioning and Traffic Control.
• Drive test automation strategies and improvements in coverage.
• Experience with protocol, log, and test data analysis tools preferred.
• Mentor engineering teams and provide guidance on railway signalling testing, verification, and validation practices.
• Coordinate with System Engineering, Software, Hardware, Safety, RAMS, and Project teams to ensure delivery.
• Strong expertise in ATP Railway Signalling Systems, ETCS L2 and/or KAVACH.
• Experience in system integration, verification, validation and safety-critical testing.
• Knowledge of railway safety standards and V&V processes.
• Experience with simulation platforms and real hardware testing.
• Strong technical leadership, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience supporting RDSO, NoBo, ISA or other safety assessments is an advantage.

Assignment:

• In-depth knowledge of railway safety standards and CENELEC-compliant V&V processes.
• Experience with simulation platforms, real hardware testing, and test automation frameworks.
• Strong technical leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience supporting RDSO, NoBo, ISA or other independent safety/certification assessments is an advantage.

• Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Computer Science / Instrumentation / Control Systems or any related Engineering.
• Professional experience of minimum 10 to 15+ years in railway transportation systems with the focus on testing in ETCS L2 / KAVACH domain
• Performed hands on testing activities for wayside and onboard ETCS L2 / KAVACH besides understanding of operational scenarios, requirements, and interfaces.
• Fluent English essential both written and oral, knowledge of German/Spanish is an asset
