Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Telecommunications Designer based in India.

This is a remote opportunity for a Telecommunications Designer supporting the planning and development of fiber and coaxial outside-plant networks.
You’ll translate field information, engineering drawings, and technical specifications into accurate, production-ready telecom designs.
The role combines technical design, GIS and CAD tools, documentation, and detailed network planning.
You’ll contribute to FTTx projects by developing site plans, bills of materials, splice sheets, and other essential design deliverables.
Working closely with project managers, engineers, and quality teams, you’ll help ensure projects meet customer requirements and deadlines.
The environment is fast-paced and high-volume, making accuracy, productivity, adaptability, and strong organization essential.
This role is well suited to a self-motivated designer who enjoys learning new technologies and solving practical telecommunications challenges.

Accountabilities
  • Design site plans and routes for OSP fiber and coaxial cable networks, including FTTx infrastructure.

  • Review and interpret survey field notes, sketches, engineering drawings, project specifications, and other technical documentation to create or update network designs.

  • Develop accurate telecom drawings using CAD, GIS, and other design platforms according to customer requirements and industry standards.

  • Prepare bills of materials, splice sheets, and supporting technical documentation required for project execution.

  • Organize, maintain, and accurately track revisions to project drawings and design documentation.

  • Navigate multiple software platforms and data sources to gather, validate, and incorporate information into designs.

  • Maintain a high level of design quality, accuracy, productivity, and efficiency in a high-volume production environment.

  • Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and quality-control teams to resolve issues and deliver projects on schedule.

  • Ensure all designs comply with customer specifications, applicable industry standards, and established telecom design best practices.

  • Adapt quickly to changes in project scope, customer requirements, priorities, and software workflows.

  • Troubleshoot design challenges and proactively identify inconsistencies or issues before they affect project delivery.

Requirements
  • 1–5 years of professional experience in OSP telecommunications design, fiber-optic networks, FTTx, splicing, or related telecom engineering work.

  • Strong understanding of fiber-optic components, splicing practices, network architecture, and outside-plant design principles.

  • Demonstrated ability to create BOMs, splice sheets, site plans, and other supporting telecom design documentation.

  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, survey field notes, sketches, and technical specifications.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, ArcGIS Online, Microsoft Word, Excel, D365, and Outlook.

  • Experience with GIS and design tools such as ArcGIS Pro, Vetro, Bluebeam, Visio, or PDF-editing software is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications industry standards and established design best practices.

  • Fluent English communication skills, including strong reading, writing, and verbal communication abilities.

  • Experience supporting U.S.-based telecommunications projects and familiarity with U.S. standards and customer requirements is an advantage.

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time-management skills.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a practical and analytical approach to design challenges.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and software platforms simultaneously while meeting project deadlines.

  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to learn new software and processes quickly.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with project managers, engineers, and quality teams.

Benefits
  • Annual salary range of ₹360,000–₹550,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

  • Fully remote, full-time position based in India.

  • 40-hour minimum work week.

  • Fixed day or evening shift options aligned with project requirements:

    • Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM–2:00 PM IST.

    • Monday–Friday, 5:30 PM–12:00 AM IST.

  • Two-week training schedule from Monday–Friday, 4:30 PM–12:30 AM IST.
