Job summary

EY Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Technology Risk professional to drive AI governance, risk management, and assurance across client engagements and internal initiatives.

You’ll design enterprise AI governance frameworks, assess controls, oversee compliance reviews, and collaborate with Data Science, Legal, Cybersecurity, and business teams to instill responsible, ethical AI.

This role offers a chance to shape new AI services at EY and grow within a global risk advisory practice.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in AI governance or technology risk.
• Knowledge of AI regulations such as GDPR, ISO 42001.
• Experience with ITGC/ITAC and SOX preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in AI governance reviews, control assessments and compliance reporting.

Technology Risk Senior - AI Governance

As a Senior, you will contribute to Technology Risk client engagements and internal initiatives by supporting the delivery of AI Governance, AI Risk Management, and AI Assurance activities. An important part of your role will be to work closely with Managers and engagement teams while actively participating in client engagements, conducting risk assessments, evaluating governance controls, and supporting compliance and assurance reviews. In line with EY commitment to quality, you’ll confirm that work is of high quality and is reviewed by the next-level reviewer. As a member of the team, you’ll help to create a positive learning culture and assist fellow team members while delivering an assignment. You will help clients navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI by assessing, designing, and advising on governance frameworks, risk management practices, and compliance control. We'll look to you to advise our clients on designing, assessing, monitoring, and enhancing AI governance programs to ensure responsible, ethical, secure, and compliant use of AI technologies.

Skills and Summary of Accountabilities:

• Exposure working in client facing roles, collaborate with cross functional teams including internal audits, IT security and business stakeholders to assess control effectiveness and facilitate remediation activities.
• Design, assess, and advise on enterprise AI governance frameworks, policies, standards, and controls.
• Support AI assurance, audit, and compliance reviews through governance evidence, control assessments, and risk mitigation activities.
• Preferred knowledge/understanding of experience in IT Controls, Risk and Compliance.
• Design IT Risk Controls framework such as IT SOX.
• Testing of internal controls such as IT general controls, IT application controls, IPE related controls, interface controls etc.
• Perform AI governance reviews, control assessments, and compliance evaluations against established frameworks, policies, and regulatory requirements
• Conduct AI risk assessments covering bias, fairness, explainability, privacy, security, model risk, hallucinations, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain AI inventories, model registers, risk classifications, and governance documentation to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Engineering, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Cybersecurity, and business teams to assess governance compliance, review controls, and provide independent oversight across AI development and deployment processes.
• Monitor AI risk indicators, model performance, control effectiveness, and compliance metrics, providing governance reporting and executive dashboards.
• Assess and evaluate Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Lineage, and Model Governance controls to support AI governance and risk management objectives
• Promote ethical AI adoption by ensuring fairness, transparency, accountability, privacy, and security are integrated into AI solutions.
• Assess the design and operating effectiveness of governance controls, Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) controls, approval workflows, and lifecycle governance checkpoints for Machine Learning, Generative AI, LLM, and Agentic AI solutions

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• 4+ years of experience in AI Governance, Model Governance, Technology Risk, AI Risk Management, Data Governance, or Compliance.
• Experience in ITGC, ITAC, SOX, Technology Risk, Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance, or GRC engagements is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Responsible AI principles, AI governance frameworks, and AI/ML lifecycle governance.
• Knowledge of AI regulations and standards such as ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, and GDPR.
• Experience performing AI risk assessments, governance reviews, control evaluations, and compliance reporting.
• Understanding of Machine Learning, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and associated governance risks.
• Familiarity with AI and cloud platforms such as Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, AWS, or Google Cloud from a governance, risk, compliance, or controls perspective
• Proficiency with collaboration and governance tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, and ServiceNow.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, Risk Management, Cybersecurity, or related disciplines.
• Relevant certifications are considered a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams within a fast-paced environment.
