Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in India is seeking an AI Intern to work with engineers and researchers on real AI/ML projects, from prototyping models to deploying them. This hands-on role offers exposure to the full lifecycle of building AI products and the opportunity to ship work into production.

Qualifications

• Final-year or recent graduate in CS/AI/DS; strong programming foundation in Python.
• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
• Understanding of core ML concepts and data manipulation with NumPy/Pandas.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn quickly.
• Familiarity with Git and writing clean code.

We’re looking for a curious, motivated AI Intern to join our team. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work alongside engineers and researchers on real AI/ML projects, from prototyping models to deploying them. You’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of building AI products and have the opportunity to ship work that goes into production.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in building, training, and evaluating machine learning and deep learning models
• Work with large language models (LLMs) – prompt engineering, fine‑tuning, RAG pipelines, or agentic workflows
• Clean, preprocess, and analyze datasets to support model development
• Write clean, well‑documented Python code and contribute to internal tools and APIs
• Help benchmark model performance and run experiments to improve accuracy and efficiency
• Read recent AI research papers and share insights with the team
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to integrate AI features into our products

Who You Are

• Final‑year or recently graduated student from a B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech program in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, Electronics, or related fields
• Solid programming foundation in Python; familiarity with Git
• Hands‑on experience (coursework, projects, or hackathons) with at least one ML framework – PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit‑learn
• Understanding of core ML concepts: supervised/unsupervised learning, neural networks, evaluation metrics, overfitting
• Comfortable with data manipulation libraries – NumPy, Pandas
• Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn quickly
• Good written and verbal communication

Nice to Have

• Experience working with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face) or building chatbots/RAG systems
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or containerization (Docker)
• Knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, or LangChain / LlamaIndex
• Open‑source contributions, Kaggle competitions, or a personal portfolio of AI projects
• Research publications or coursework in NLP, computer vision, or reinforcement learning
