Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of technical tasks including cable laying, splicing, CCTV camera installation, and general field and site work. This role requires hands‑on experience in on‑site installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various low‑voltage systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cable Laying:
    • Lay, route, and terminate cables (fiber optic, coaxial, CAT6/CAT5e, etc.) in accordance with project plans and safety standards.
    • Conduct conduit installations and perform underground and overhead cabling as required.
  • Field & Site Work:
    • Perform on‑site surveys, inspections, and assessments to prepare for installation or maintenance tasks.
    • Travel to various project sites and client locations for installations, repairs, and support.
  • Splicing:
    • Conduct fiber optic and copper cable splicing, termination, and testing.
    • Use tools and testing equipment such as OTDR, power meters, and fusion splicers.
  • CCTV Camera Installation:
    • Install, configure, and test CCTV systems including IP and analog cameras.
    • Run necessary cabling, set up DVR/NVR systems, and ensure proper system operation.
    • Troubleshoot and repair camera-related issues as needed.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
    • Diagnose and resolve technical problems on‑site.
    • Conduct regular system checks and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs, test results, and inventory usage.
    • Report project progress and issues to supervisors in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunications preferred.
  • Proven experience in cable laying, splicing, and CCTV installation.
  • Familiarity with tools and test equipment such as crimpers, splicing machines, testers, drills, and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Physically fit and able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in outdoor conditions.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Field‑based role with frequent travel to client sites.
  • May require overtime, weekend work, and long hours depending on project needs.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and work environments.
