Barclays in Pune seeks a Technical Test Automation Specialist to design, develop, and execute testing strategies for software quality. You will lead automated testing efforts, build robust test frameworks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable digital experiences.

The role requires strong Python/BDD, QA automation, and cloud knowledge (Azure/AWS), with experience in pipelines via GitLab and Git.

Qualifications

• BDD using Python development to build/contribute to test automation frameworks.
• Strong experience in QA – Test Automation and Manual.
• Experience of building test automation pipelines using Gitlab.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure or AWS and knowledge of landing zones.
• Extensive knowledge of testing lifecycle and core testing techniques.
• Experience of using Gitlab for source control.
• Experience of using the Git source control system.
• Estimations, designing test plans & test strategy, writing test scenarios & cases, executing test cases, opening/listing bugs, verifying bugs.

Responsibilities

• Development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure quality standards.
• Creation and execution of automated test scripts leveraging testing frameworks and tools to detect defects early.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements and contribute to acceptance criteria.

To be successful as a “Technical Test Automation Specialist\", you should have experience with:

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

• BDD using Python development - must have coded in python to build/contribute to test automation frameworks


• Strong experience in QA – Test Automation and Manual


• Experience of building test automation pipelines using Gitlab


• Exposure to Microsoft Azure or AWS and knowledge of what landing zones are


• Extensive knowledge of testing lifecycle and core testing process/techniques using different test approaches


• Experience of using the source code control system in Gitlab


• Experience of using the Git source code control system


• Good with providing estimations, designing test plans and test strategy, writing test scenarios, cases, executing test cases, opening bugs, verifying bugs

Desired Skills:

• Azure Certifications - Az104 - Azure Administrator something similar in other Public Clouds such as AWS or GCP


• Exposure to Terraform


• UI and API test automation exposure is prefereed

This role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, to ensure software quality and reliability.

Accountabilities

• Development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.


• Creation and execution automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues. .


• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria, ensuring a thorough understanding of the software being tested.


• Root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.


• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.


• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
