Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) in Mumbai seeks a Technical Superintendent to provide end-to-end technical and operational oversight of our tanker vessels, ensuring safety, compliance, and cost-efficient ship management. You will be the primary technical liaison for ships, clients, and shore teams, aligning fleet performance with regulatory requirements and company objectives.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year sailing as chief engineer or shore-based as a technical superintendent.
• Experience on relevant vessels, ideally of the same type supervised.

Mansioni

• Provide end-to-end technical and operational oversight of assigned tankers.
• Be the primary technical contact for Masters and Chief Engineers, advising on safety and maintenance.

As a Technical Superintendent at BSM, you will be responsible for providing end-to-end technical and operational oversight of assigned tanker vessels, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-efficient ship management. The role plays a critical part in connecting ship and shore by acting as the primary technical point of contact for vessels, clients, and external stakeholders, while supporting BSM’s strategic objectives, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of fleet performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver contractual ship management services in line with customer agreements, ensuring vessels meet required technical and operational standards
• Act as the primary technical contact for Masters and Chief Engineers, providing guidance on safety, maintenance, drydock planning, critical equipment, and non-routine repairs
• Maintain close communication with clients on technical, operational, and budgetary matters, building effective working relationships
• Monitor vessel machinery, equipment performance, and maintenance execution to enhance safety, reliability, energy efficiency, and operational performance
• Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance, repair, and drydocking plans, ensuring timely execution within approved budgets

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, or Marine Engineering, or equivalent, or a valid Chief Engineer’s Certificate
• Minimum of one year sailing experience as a chief engineer, or one year of shore-based experience as a technical superintendent within a ship management or owning company
• Experience on relevant vessels, preferably of the same type as those supervised
