Job Purpose:
To provide technical support, process optimization, troubleshooting, and product performance improvement for customers engaged in CPVC extrusion operations. The role ensures smooth processing, addresses customer issues promptly, and supports product trials and new grade developments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Technical Support
- Visit customer sites for on‑site troubleshooting of extrusion issues (e.g., fusion, burning, surface finish, impact failure, etc.).
- Support customers in process parameter optimization for CPVC extrusion lines.
- Provide guidance on compound handling, machine setup, and tool maintenance.
- Document customer issues and share root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
2. Product & Process Trials
- Conduct lab‑scale and plant‑scale trials for new CPVC compounds or formulations.
- Record detailed process observations (torque, melt temperature, vacuum, die pressure, etc.).
- Evaluate product quality (impact strength, appearance, dimensions, etc.) and coordinate feedback with R&D.
- Recommend formulation adjustments or additive combinations for improved performance.
3. Technical Documentation
- Prepare and maintain technical reports, trial summaries, and visit reports.
- Support standard operating procedures (SOPs) for extrusion and testing.
- Develop processing guidelines and training materials for internal and external teams.
4. Collaboration & Feedback
- Work closely with R&D, QA/QC, and Production teams for product improvement.
- Provide customer feedback for new product development and formulation optimization.
- Assist in benchmarking competitor materials and performance evaluation.
5. Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Conduct technical training sessions for customers and internal staff.
- Stay updated with latest extrusion technologies, additives, and testing methods.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of CPVC material science, compounding, and extrusion technology.
- Hands‑on experience with twin‑screw extrusion, die design.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills for process‑related issues.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in using instruments like Brabender, DSC, impact tester, MFI tester, etc.
Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or Plastics Engineering (e.g., CIPET / MIT / ICT).
- 3+ years of experience in CPVC/PVC extrusion, technical service, or application development.
Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- % of customer issues resolved within defined timeline.
- Number of successful trials conducted.
- Customer satisfaction score / feedback.
- Reduction in repeat issues.
- Support in new product commercialization.
