Job summary

TURBOSOFT PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking a Technical QA Engineer to own quality across API integrations, data pipelines, and AI chat interfaces. You will design and execute tests for REST APIs, data lake/warehouse ingestion, and chatbot outputs, ensuring accuracy and reliability in client projects.

You will collaborate on requirements, sprint planning, and release readiness, with hands-on testing across integration, data, and AI domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on manual testing experience.
• Experience in API testing with REST/JSON.
• Strong SQL skills for data validation.

Responsibilities

• Write and execute test cases, test plans and regression suites from technical requirements.
• Run functional, regression, integration and system testing, and support UAT.
• Log, track and verify defects in Trello with clear reproduction steps and evidence.
• Take part in requirement analysis, sprint planning and QA reviews, and confirm release readiness.
• Test REST APIs and webhooks in Postman: happy path, error codes, authentication, payload validation and edge cases.
• Verify data moves correctly between connected systems, including field mapping, transformations and record matching.
• Test ingestion and transformation logic using SQL: row counts, nulls, duplicates, data types and business rules.
• Check chat AI outputs against source data; flag hallucinations and ensure grounded results.

About the Role

We are looking for a Technical QA Engineer who takes real ownership of quality.

You will test API integrations between live business systems, validate data as it moves through pipelines into the data lake and warehouse, and check the accuracy of AI chat interfaces that answer questions from client data.

What You Will Be Doing

Core QA

• Write and execute test cases, test plans and regression suites from technical requirements.
• Run functional, regression, integration and system testing, and support UAT.
• Log, track and verify defects in Trello with clear reproduction steps and evidence.
• Take part in requirement analysis, sprint planning and QA reviews, and confirm release readiness.

Integration projects

• Test REST APIs and webhooks in Postman: happy path, error codes, authentication, payload validation and edge cases.
• Verify data moves correctly between connected systems, including field mapping, transformations and record matching.
• Test failure behaviour: retries, timeouts, duplicates, partial failures and error logging.
• Reconcile source and target records to confirm nothing is lost or silently changed.

Data lake and warehouse projects

• Validate ingestion and transformation logic using SQL: row counts, nulls, duplicates, data types and business rules.
• Compare source, staging and final tables, and report any drift.
• Test incremental loads, historical loads and schema changes.
• Check that reports and dashboards agree with the underlying data.

Chatbot and AI projects

• Build and maintain test question sets with expected answers for chat and natural language query features.
• Check answers against the source data, and flag responses that are hallucinated or not grounded.
• Test retrieval quality, conversation handling, out of scope questions and safe refusals.
• Re-run regression checks whenever prompts, models or data sources change.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• 3 to 5 years of hands‑on manual testing.
• API testing with Postman or similar, with a solid grasp of REST and JSON.
• Good SQL, including joins and aggregate queries for data validation.
• Experience with Trello or another defect tracking tool.
• Strong analytical skills, real attention to detail, and clear written English for reports shared with clients.

Good to Have

• Basic automation with Selenium, or automated tests in Postman collections.
• Exposure to ETL or ELT tools and data pipeline testing.
• Familiarity with a cloud data platform such as BigQuery or Snowflake.
• Understanding of AI chat, RAG or LLM based features and how to judge output quality.
